Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the height be adjusted? It is adjustable on the CB-Junior bracket.

A: No.

Q: 2. Is this bracket compatible with an EOS 1DX III body?

A: Yes the Custom Brackets Digital Pro-E CMP Bracket is compatible with the Canon 1DX Mark 3.

Q: 3. I have the 70D with 580ex. I do not have the extra battery pack on the bottom of my camera, will this fit without that? Some say there needs to be a lock on the flash holding arm so it doesn't swing freely. Has that changed? Also what is the the anti twist bar? Is that needed to purchase extra? Thanks Photography by Jeanene

A: I bought this bracket a year ago and its one of my favorite. I have a 5D Mark III with the extra battery grip. I also have the 580 and the 600 flashes. With the grip, there is about a 2 clearance from the top of the off camera flash attachment on the hot shoe to the arm of the bracket. Without the battery grip there would be about 4 inches of clearance. There are 2 locks associated with the flash; one is to keep the flash from twisting and the other mounts on the base to keep the camera from twisting. I honestly don't remember if they were additional options or if they came with the bracket. In either case, I recommend them both. They work well. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need additional info

Q: 4. Can this bracket be attached to a tripod?

A: The Custom Brackets Folding-T Flash Bracket can be mounted onto a tripod, yes. It has a standard 1/4 -20 thread on the bottom of the bracket to attach it to a tripod head/quick release plate.

Q: 5. What's the difference between the folding T & S CB?

A: S is for small - as in small cameras, the T is for tall - for larger cameras.

Q: 6. Will this work with a canon R5 with battery grip?

A: Yes, you can attach a Canon R5 with a battery grip onto the Custom Brackets Digital PRO-SV Bracket Kit with CMP Camera Plate.

Q: 7. What country manufactures this item?

A: The Custom Brackets Folding-T Flash Bracket is made in the US.

Q: 8. How do I attach the flash? I don't see a cold shoe?

A: Custom Brackets Folding-T Flash Bracket BH #CUFTB has a cold shoe at the top and It holds a flash 11" (28cm) above the lens. You can check the last product photo that shows how it will work.

Q: 9. Does this bracket work for left eye shooters? I turn my camera counter clockwise (right hand on top) when I shoot vertical, so will this bracket allow the flash to stay on top? Thank you!

A: I am actually left eye dominant myself! The bracket can be mounted to the camera from either side, but I actually mount it with the bracket to the left. I rotate clockwise for verticals-that is just me. What Bob B. stated is completely true. This is a really nice bracket, regardless of dominant eye. One can pretty much mount and shoot however he/she chooses. There is a great you tube video that was the reason I purchased it.

Q: 10. Is there a version of this that can accept a Manfrotto 200PL Quick Release Plate (that I always keep on my camera)?

A: Unfortunately, you would not be able to keep the Manfrotto quick release plate on your camera when using the Custom Brackets camera bracket. You would need the Custom Brackets plate to connect the camera to the camera bracket. However, they do sell the Custom Brackets Digital PRO-SV Bracket with Manfrotto RC2 Kit, B&H # CUDGTLPSVMKT, which allows the camera/bracket combination to connect to a Manfrotto tripod heads that uses the Manfrotto RC2 (200PL) quick release system.

My first (and maybe last) flash bracket. Compact, well-engineered. Used it for the first time at a friend's wedding a few days ago. I was a bit concerned about the landscape-to-portrait flip but it was fast, stable and easy to use. I noticed that one reviewer had suggested buying the anti-twist plate - which I did. However, it doesn't fit on my Nikon D700 so I went without. I found that the combination of the non-slip material on the camera base and that on the bracket resulted in a completely stable system throughout the wedding.

I purchased this bracket after reading all of the reviews. This is my first flash bracket. I love the way it folds. Took me a little while to get it just right to hold flash firmly. Used with Canon 7D with battery pack and 580EX flash.

All their products are made well. The elegant and simple designs are numerous and address needs that other companies don't solve well. This is the best portrait flip bracket!

I first saw this at a the PhotoPlus Expo show and was impressed with the design and construction. Unlike Stroboframe, which is made of folded sheet metal, Custom Bracket flash holders are machined out of aluminum and fitted with brass latches. The folding bracket fits in a large camera bag and is much easier to deal with than the non-folding versions. Like any bracket, this accomplished two objectives: 1) To get the flash away from the camera to increase subject definition by enhancing shadows and to eliminate red-eye; 2) To keep the flash above the camera when the camera is rotated vertically to avoid unnatural lighting. Since any bracket can do this the CB bracket distinguishes itself through construction (form, fit, & finish), weight, and the convenience of folding. Highly recommended.

Easy to use and feels great. Easy to switch from top to side without having to pull back. It's the right height to get rid of the hot spot. It doesn't take much room when packing. I can trust holding it with my camera. I use it often.

Great for all events, great for used with a hot-shoe extension off-camera cable and a hotshoe flash unit, with or without diffuser device.
