Presented in a black body with a blue grille, the Telefunken M80 Custom Handheld Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone delivers the sonic essence of a condenser in a rugged dynamic design. It features a wide 50 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response and high maximum SPL of 135 dB, making it equally suitable for voice, instruments, or drums onstage and in the studio. The M80 is designed to be an alternative to the midrange-laden character of most dynamic vocal microphones.

The M80's low-mass capsule and super-thin capsule membrane allow a wider dynamic range from a live vocal, providing an intimate feel that's typically reserved for studio condenser microphones. The head and capsule assembly is designed to reduce proximity effect and add low-end clarity while still providing present bass. The M80 also features an American-made, custom-wound, impedance-matching transformer. It ships with a mic clip and leather storage bag.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could this microphone work with a Behringer U-Phoria UM2 audio interface, and if so would it have issues with it being too quiet?

A: The V7 will work well with the UM2. There is gain control on the UM2, so no, it will not be too low.

Q: 2. Why does it not have an on-off switch?

A: If you require an on/off switch on the mic, then the Sennheiser e835S Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone with On/Off Switch, BH #SEE835S, would be the model for you.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the Shure blx wireless?

A: Because the Shure BLX-2 transmitter features an integrated capsule design (non-removable), the Telefunken M80 wireless dynamic microphone capsule is not compatible.

Q: 4. Could anybody tell me the name of the stand that is holding the microphone in the picture?

A: That is a desk stand for the Sennheiser MD441U. There are 2 stands that fit the MD441U, the desk top one in the photo which comes with the mic (special order) and flexible rubber one that we have separately B&H # SEMZQ441.

Q: 5. do I need to have 48v phantom power on to use my Fat Head mic ?

A: No you will be using the included transformer which supplies the necessary power to the microphone.

Q: 6. So this capsule screws onto the Lectro HHa body and works with no issue?

A: Yes, the Telefunken M80-WH Wireless Dynamic Microphone Capsule is an interchangeable capsule that will work with the Lectrosonics HH and HHa wireless handheld transmitters, as well as with Sony UTX-M03 wireless handheld transmitters, and Shure Axient, UHF-R, QLXD, ULXD, ULX, PG, PGX, SLX, and UR2 wireless handheld transmitters.

Q: 7. I need an external mic for my Canon Vixia HF R52 camcorder. The Canon tech support person said the mic had to have its own power supply. But this Shure VP64-AL says it needs no battery or Phantom power (whatever that is). So will this mic work with my camcorder?

A: This is a dynamic microphone, so it needs no external or battery power. What you will need is an adapter cable with attenuation to match the input on the camcorder:

Q: 8. How long is the cable?

A: 16.5 inches

Q: 9. does it have a Bluetooth?

A: The M80 is a dynamic wired handheld mic with no Bluetooth or wireless capabilities.

Q: 10. Does this have a mute and on/off button ?

A: No, the Polsen M-70 Dynamic Handheld Microphone does not have a mute or on/off button or switch onboard.
