Presented in a cherry wood body with a black grille, the Telefunken M80 Custom Handheld Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone delivers the sonic essence of a condenser in a rugged dynamic design. It features a wide 50 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response and high maximum SPL of 135 dB, making it equally suitable for voice, instruments, or drums onstage and in the studio. The M80 is designed to be an alternative to the midrange-laden character of most dynamic vocal microphones.

The M80's low-mass capsule and super-thin capsule membrane allow a wider dynamic range from a live vocal, providing an intimate feel that's typically reserved for studio condenser microphones. The head and capsule assembly is designed to reduce proximity effect and add low-end clarity while still providing present bass. The M80 also features an American-made, custom-wound, impedance-matching transformer. It ships with a mic clip and leather storage bag.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. For a Canon 70d I know I need a xlr to 3.5mm cable so the mic connects to my camera, But I was wondering which cable would I need to do that? There's so many options. Which xlr to 3.5mm cable should I get from this site. Thanks

A: The recommended cable adapter for DSLR connection is the Kopul LMT-100. This is an 18 cable adapter. To run the length from the mic to adapter would require a standard XLR mic cable. Available in lengths from 1 to 100 feet.

Q: 2. does it have a Bluetooth?

A: The M80 is a dynamic wired handheld mic with no Bluetooth or wireless capabilities.

Q: 3. Can I use with an iphone12?k And can I plug in headphones for a monitor?

A: You would need an audio interface that is compatible with iOS devices to be able to use the Cascade Fat Head with an iPhone like BH #IKIPIRIGPROI for example.

Q: 4. Is the grill removable for cleaning ?

A: No it is not. But you can get a sanitizing product called Goby Labs Sanitizer Spray for Microphones. This is the B&H part number B&H # GOGLS104B.

Q: 5. Will this microphone work with a Canon Rebel eos T7i, or would I need an adaptor?

A: You may purchase an XLR adapter such as the Marantz Professional PMD-602A 2-Channel DSLR Audio Interface, B&H # MAPMD602A, along with the Kopul CMX-RC30 Right-Angle Coiled Stereo Mini Cable (Black, 8 to 24"), B&H # KOCMXRC30B, or you may purchase an XLR to 1/8" (3.5mm) miniphone cable such as the Kopul XRSM 3-Pin XLR Female to 3.5mm RA Stereo Mini-Plug Cable (10'), B&H # KOXRSM10B, for your usage needs. The Kopul cable would be a simple cable and the more economical option, whereas the Marantz PMD-602A would allow you to use a standard XLR cable and allow you to control the level of the microphone, along with allowing you to use two (2) microphones simultaneously and monitor the audio using headphones.

Q: 6. Could this microphone work with a Behringer U-Phoria UM2 audio interface, and if so would it have issues with it being too quiet?

A: The V7 will work well with the UM2. There is gain control on the UM2, so no, it will not be too low.

Q: 7. Why does it not have an on-off switch?

A: If you require an on/off switch on the mic, then the Sennheiser e835S Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone with On/Off Switch, BH #SEE835S, would be the model for you.

Q: 8. I need an external mic for my Canon Vixia HF R52 camcorder. The Canon tech support person said the mic had to have its own power supply. But this Shure VP64-AL says it needs no battery or Phantom power (whatever that is). So will this mic work with my camcorder?

A: This is a dynamic microphone, so it needs no external or battery power. What you will need is an adapter cable with attenuation to match the input on the camcorder:

Q: 9. Could anybody tell me the name of the stand that is holding the microphone in the picture?

A: That is a desk stand for the Sennheiser MD441U. There are 2 stands that fit the MD441U, the desk top one in the photo which comes with the mic (special order) and flexible rubber one that we have separately B&H # SEMZQ441.

Q: 10. Can this mic work with the housing on a Canon XA11?

A: Yes, the handle on the Shure VP64A handheld microphone has a 19mm diameter which should fit into the microphone holder on the Canon XA11. If the mic holder is slightly larger than the mic's handle, you can use a rubber O-ring like the Sanken ROCS Rubber O-Rings for CS-1 (B&H # SAROCS) which come in a pack of 10 and will fill out the extra bit of space so the mic will fit securely. The VP64A.and Sanken CS-1 shotgun mic that the O-ring was designed for use with both have a 19mm diameter. As another option, you can try to make your own wedge using rubber bands, gaffer's tape or pieces of sponge to fill in the space and create a secure fit for the mic,
