Presented in an orange body with a chrome grille, the Telefunken M80 Custom Handheld Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone delivers the sonic essence of a condenser in a rugged dynamic design. It features a wide 50 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response and high maximum SPL of 135 dB, making it equally suitable for voice, instruments, or drums onstage and in the studio. The M80 is designed to be an alternative to the midrange-laden character of most dynamic vocal microphones.

The M80's low-mass capsule and super-thin capsule membrane allow a wider dynamic range from a live vocal, providing an intimate feel that's typically reserved for studio condenser microphones. The head and capsule assembly is designed to reduce proximity effect and add low-end clarity while still providing present bass. The M80 also features an American-made, custom-wound, impedance-matching transformer. It ships with a mic clip and leather storage bag.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this microphone work with a Canon Rebel eos T7i, or would I need an adaptor?

A: You may purchase an XLR adapter such as the Marantz Professional PMD-602A 2-Channel DSLR Audio Interface, B&H # MAPMD602A, along with the Kopul CMX-RC30 Right-Angle Coiled Stereo Mini Cable (Black, 8 to 24"), B&H # KOCMXRC30B, or you may purchase an XLR to 1/8" (3.5mm) miniphone cable such as the Kopul XRSM 3-Pin XLR Female to 3.5mm RA Stereo Mini-Plug Cable (10'), B&H # KOXRSM10B, for your usage needs. The Kopul cable would be a simple cable and the more economical option, whereas the Marantz PMD-602A would allow you to use a standard XLR cable and allow you to control the level of the microphone, along with allowing you to use two (2) microphones simultaneously and monitor the audio using headphones.

Q: 2. Hello, what is the real color? In the first photo is a different pink that in the last one.. thanks!

A: I apologize for the confusion. The Telefunken M80 pink body with pink grille would look like the model in the 4th picture.

Q: 3. Could this microphone work with a Behringer U-Phoria UM2 audio interface, and if so would it have issues with it being too quiet?

A: The V7 will work well with the UM2. There is gain control on the UM2, so no, it will not be too low.

Q: 4. Will this mic work with the nikon d5300?

A: This mic connects via XLR hookup. As long as you have proper connection to camera (via mic cable) you should be fine.

Q: 5. I need to adapt this to a 1/8 input on my camcorders. So do I need a female XLR to male 1/8 pin?

A: In order to connect this and similar mics to a camcorder we recommend using a standard XLR mic cable to run the length to your camera, such as the Kopul 300 series cable a href= http://bhpho.to/1wN1pO2 target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1wN1pO2/a You will then adapt the XLR to mini into your camcorder using a special adapter cable. The Kopul LMT100 is an 18 cable and designed specifically for this purpose. a href= http://bhpho.to/1yMIinD target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1yMIinD/a

Q: 6. Why does it not have an on-off switch?

A: If you require an on/off switch on the mic, then the Sennheiser e835S Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone with On/Off Switch, BH #SEE835S, would be the model for you.

Q: 7. The specs state that the "Circuitry" is "solid state" but if it is a dynamic microphone without transistors or ICs then there are no solid state devices, just wires. What exactly does the "circuitry" consist of?

A: There are no active electronics in this microphone. Just a magnet and a voice coil.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with the Shure GLXD-D wireless microphones?

A: Yes - it will screw right onto the handle.

Q: 9. Can this mic work with the housing on a Canon XA11?

A: Yes, the handle on the Shure VP64A handheld microphone has a 19mm diameter which should fit into the microphone holder on the Canon XA11. If the mic holder is slightly larger than the mic's handle, you can use a rubber O-ring like the Sanken ROCS Rubber O-Rings for CS-1 (B&H # SAROCS) which come in a pack of 10 and will fill out the extra bit of space so the mic will fit securely. The VP64A.and Sanken CS-1 shotgun mic that the O-ring was designed for use with both have a 19mm diameter. As another option, you can try to make your own wedge using rubber bands, gaffer's tape or pieces of sponge to fill in the space and create a secure fit for the mic,

Q: 10. Does this have a mute and on/off button ?

A: No, the Polsen M-70 Dynamic Handheld Microphone does not have a mute or on/off button or switch onboard.
