Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Since it's TRS will it work with a low impedance microphone?

A: The Saramonic SR-UC201 3.5mm TRS Female to 3.5mm TRRS Male Adapter Cable for Smartphones should accept a low-impedance TRS microphone signal.

Q: 2. What's the difference between this adapter and the SC3 version?

A: This adapter is to allow a mic with a 3.5mm TRS end to go into a smartphone. The Rode SC3, is the opposite, so it would take a TRRS mic, such as the Rode SmartLav+, and allow you to connect it to a camera or audio recorder, with a TRS 3.5mm mic input.

Q: 3. ok thenim not gonna be able to record from my smartphone then because ive tried with a trs to trs cable and what i get is so quiet you can barely hear it after its recorded.?

A: This cable is designed to take the audio output from a saramonic wireless receiver and send it to the input of a smartphone.

Q: 4. I just purchased an SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor hoping to connect my Apogee Element 88 to my iPhone 11. My signal chain looks like this - MacBook Pro - Apogee 88 - TRS RCA Cable - SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor - to Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. The iPhone is not recognizing the mic. Is it possible to use SC4 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adaptor with and RCA cable line out?

A: Upon looking at the Element 88, we notice there are no RCA outputs on the unit. You may be referring to the 1/4'' outputs on the back of the unit. If this is correct, and the cabling is as you suggested with 1/4'' outputs from the ALT out, then technically signal should pass. You may need to look at your DAW outputs and ensure you are sending signal to the ALT outputs and not just the mains. An alternative to that many adapters would be this cable, used from the 1/4'' outputs, and connected right the the Apple lightning to headphone adapter BH #SEIPSUMTS3.

Q: 5. Hi, i want to use this as a line-in cable to connect the output feed from a mixer into my android/iphone phone, so i can send mixer sound to my phone and stream it over facebook live, can i do it with this adaptor?

A: Hi Maguel,I bought this to adapt to TRS to TRRS, works great.. Make sure you don't get scratchy connector noise in your feed... It usually comes from connectors not being tight.

Q: 6. Can I use this to hook up an external mic to an iphone 8?

A: Yes you can.

Q: 7. can you use this cable to record sounds FROM a smartphone TO a computer?

A: ok then im not going to be able to record from my phone to my pc. when i try with the cable you suggested a get a recording so quiet i cant use it on the pc side. and i have the volume on the phone maxed out ok well at least now i know its impossible thanks

Q: 8. Is it compatible with Apple iPhone 6S? I just purchased it based in the answers for iPhone 5S, but so far I have not been able to record the input from a variety of external mikes that I've hooked up through this adaptor. Am I missing something or is the configuration different?

A: Do the mcs you've used require external power? Because neither the iPhone nor this adapter will provide power. I can confirm that this adapter WILL will work with any recent iPhone if you use a self-powered mic.

Q: 9. Can I use this to connect to a MACBOOK PRO?

A: Yes this will allow you to connect any of the VideoMics with a standard 3.5mm TRS output directly into your MacBook Pro.

Q: 10. Will non-powered mics work on my phone with this?

A: Yes, as long as the microphones, take plugin power.

I use this TRS to TRRS adapter to stream DJ Sets live online via my iPhone. The cable does exactly what it's supposed to do. If you're in need of a may to attach a mic or audio output to a smart device - this is a great and cost effective way to meet that need.

I use a Nokia Phone in an Otterbox case to take videos. The case does not leave a large enough opening for connector of my Rode Shotgun mic - this adaptor makes it possible.
Used it for 4+ months and I am happy with this purchase
