$329.97 $402.56

Compact and lightweight and outfitted with a powerful magnification that brings distant subjects in close for detailed observation, the green Hawke Optics 10x42 Nature-Trek Monocular features a compact phase-corrected BAK4 roof prism and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics that work together to produce a versatile and capable optic with bright and clear color-accurate views. Its 42mm objective, coupled with the optical features and generous angle of view, makes the Nature-Trek ideally suited for most quick and casual glassing needs.

Complementing the optical performance are construction details that make the monocular durable and comfortable to use. These details start with a lightweight, impact and corrosion-resistant polycarbonate chassis that is protected by green rubberized armor. This armoring is textured to give it a non-slip grip, especially in cold and wet conditions. The optical tube is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be water and fogproof—especially in extreme weather conditions. A standard 1/4"-20 mount allows the monocular to be used as a mini-spotting scope when placed on a tripod or other support system for hunting, shooting, or bird and nature watching.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where are the binoculars made?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is China. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

Q: 2. My husband and I are going on a safari and these binoculars were recommended. Are they a good fit for safari or should I be looking at others?

A: I bought a pair of these two years ago, mostly for use at our country retreat outside Ithaca, NY. Deciding factor was the close focusing ability, though they are fine at a distance, as well. They seem virtually equal to a pair of Eagle binoculars I got for a birthday present some six years ago. Only thing about roof prisms is they provide less stereo separation at a distance. But issues like color fringing, collimation are negligible. A very good value. Was just watching a flock of cedar waxwings eating hawthorn blossoms with gusto.

Q: 3. What is the physical size of this?

A: About 4.5 inches long.

Q: 4. What is the diopter adjustment range? The listed specs just states "yes" and the DX ED model says -3 to +3.

A: They do not state a numeric value for the diopter. It is adjustable but just + or - with no numbers.

Q: 5. How does the Celestron Lifetime Warranty compare to the Carson or Vortex No Questions... type warranty?

A: The Celestron Warranty is a Limited Lifetime. So it only covers against defects. The No Questions asked warranty from Carson and Vortex cover against accidental damage, as well as Manufacturer Defects.

Q: 6. Would this work for night time football?

A: Yes of course its going to be under the lights anyway

Q: 7. Why does it say "close-to-midrange observations"? Does it mean that it is not recommended for infinity focus (e.g. stars)?

A: It will not focus closer than 6.5 feet it will focus to infinity but magnification is only 8X If you want longer range consider 10X

Q: 8. is this used for night vision?

A: Sorry about the delay in answering. I am just back from travelling the antarctic which is why I bought this. It has excellent optics but not recommended for night vision even though I have used in twilight conditions.

Q: 9. Would these binoculars survive if they are fully submerged?

A: They are not rated for submersion.

Q: 10. Can you put this up to your cell phone camera and take pictures on you phone with it?

A: Yes, it is possible.
