Was an easy install and works perfectly. Gives 10gbps speeds for my LAN transfers. If you are installing this in a new Synology, you will need to set up using the 1gbps port and after it's done updating and initializing, you can shift to the 10gbps port. It took no manual work and just flipped on after the Synology 1522+ updated. 5

Super Simple plug and play into a Synology DS723+. When connected to my Dell XPS via Thunderbolt 4 to an OWC Ethernet adaptor (BH# OWTB3ADP10GE), and TP-Link 5Gbps switch (BH# TPTLSX105) I was able to get Iperf results averaging 8.8Gbps over CAT 5e cabling. 5

I was getting transfer speeds just over 100MB/s with the factory 1G card. With the 10G card, I'm seeing reed and write speeds around 500MB/s. I am working with a fairly long run over Cat 5e, so it might be capable of even more. 5

Check to see if your use case can use the bandwidth before investing. Mechanical hard drives can't operate at 10Gbps even at higher read rate in RAID configuration. Synology should of include a 2.5Gbps port on their NAD in the first place as it's perfect for home use cases, but they required this purchase to unlocked higher performance, a bit cheap imo, but I knew this going in. Otherwise the card is as Plug and Play as PNP going to get. It just works. 5

We purchased the Synology E10G22-T1-Mini RJ45 10G Ethernet Module with our new DS923+ NAS after someone pointed out that our home office was connected via a 1.5 gigabit fibre link to the Internet. We likely would have been throttling our network by using one of the NAS' standard 1 GbE RJ45 ports. The T1-Mini module was easily installed into the slot at the rear of our new NAS with the assistance of a small Phillips screwdriver. Unfortunately the Synology Assistant could not find our new NAS when it was connected to the network using the T1-Mini module. It seems that the T1-Mini module is not usable during the NAS initialization phase so we temporarily moved the network cable to one of the 1 GbE RJ45 ports to setup the NAS. The network was eventually reconnected onto the T1-Mini module and has been working reliably ever since. 5
