Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am pretty invested in Canon EF lenses. With the proper adapter, can I use the EF lenses without any compromises?

A: The camera could be adapted but depends on your definition of compromises. Things to consider would be crop factors and no electrical connection to the lenses.

Q: 2. Can I operate the BMPCC 4k directly through a wall power outlet?

A: Yes you can and a 30W Power Supply with International Adapters is included in the box with this camera.

Q: 3. interior? Why aren't there any pics of the interior? Suspect.

A: The interior dimensions are 22.0 x 11.00 x 9.5" / 55.88 x 27.94 x 24.13 cm. This case will also come with divider system for customizing the interior, with one horizontal divider, one hanging mic pocket, one padded divider pouch, one camera tie-down, and one divider camera cradle.

Q: 4. Has anyone tried using the Samsung t5 2tb model with the bmpcc4k?

A: At this time the only approved 2T USB-C SSD is the Angelbird 2TB SSD2go PKT USB 3.1 Type-C External Solid State Drive (Blue) B&H # ANPKTU3120BL.

Q: 5. Can I shoot full frame interlaced HD video with the BMPCC 4K?

A: Yes it will shoot SD PAL 576i natively

Q: 6. Deos this camera buy with lens or just it is body ?

A: Body only

Q: 7. The ISO gain switches at ISO 1250 so why is the second native ISO listed as 3200?

A: You have to look at the dual iso as two banks or sets of iso; from 400 to 1000 iso and 1250 to 6400 iso What happens in between the 1000 iso and 1250 iso is that the log curve more or less resets itself. That means that at around 1250 ISO you’d get a similar dynamic range as in the first a bank of Iso of 100 ISO This will give a much better shadow detail especially below the mid grays in dark environments. Then add the high bit rate and it gives a beautiful rendition of lowly lit scenes. I've used this camera in dark environments and found the quality to be quite amazing. Hope this was helpful...

Q: 8. Would this work with other types of cameras such as Sony a7iii?

A: The Porta Brace Rain & Dust Cover for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema/Cinema 4K Camera could be used for other types of cameras.

Q: 9. Can you turn off the phantom power if you don't need it? I have a Rode NTG-2 that is powered by its own battery and has no need for phantom (which in turn shall save battery live I assume)

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Is the pocket 4k getting BRaw?

A: The Pocket 4K supports BRAW. If you have one of the early units without, you may download the latest firmware from the Blackmagic Support site.

A perfect size for holding my Pentax 645Z with an additional lens and flash. Being watertight means no worries, even living on a lake. Well constructed with a thoughtful interior layout. Durable and portable.

Good purchase. Case is sturdy and has more room than I anticipated. You can move the Velcro prices around to customize. Overall good purchase for the money.

Saw this at Photoplus and decided to give it a try because of the die cut foam. Marketed for the Canon 5D, but I fit a 6D body with a 70-300mm lens attached and a 24-105 mm and 16-35 mm IS in the lens cut-outs (the 70-300 is too long for the lens cut-outs but fits if mounted to the camera). There,s a few extra cut outs, but haven't decided what to put in them yet.

I've been looking for a case to carry/protect a fairly minimal kit for simple 'outings'. This case currently holds a 5D mk III w/ a 70-200 mounted, a charger, 1 spare battery, 1 nd filter, and 1 polarizer. I believe there is room for a 24-70 or speedlight remaining (NOT both!), but I also think it will be a bit tight. While I do think the Pelican boxes I own are a tiny bit better, it isn't enough to matter. The latches are very smooth operating and the case is solid if a bit heavy. Pelican's size offerings appeared to be a little too big or a little too small, so I went with this. No regrets!

Well designed, foam may outgas, but inser most likely closed cell foam in ThinkTank insert/divider. Latches are very well designed, and if pinched during closing process, close without a noisy 'click' and tight. Lighter case than the competition.

I haven't tested the waterproofness of this case, but I don't doubt it.

I purchased this product about six months ago. It works well. It is well made and certainly worth the money. Fits at least one camera with long lens, a flash and so many other things. The lid fits well. You can hear the "hiss" as the lid opens which indicates that the seal is air tight. The handle is solid and well made. The metal clasps are first rate. Dividers are solid with top rate velcro adhesion.
All in all, a great purchase.
Highly recommended.
