Upgrade your existing network cabling for copper Gigabit Ethernet with the 16-Port Cat 6 Unshielded Patch Panel from TRENDnet. This 16-port patch panel is certified for 250 MHz Cat 6 cabling, ideal for Gigabit applications. Employing 110D IDC terminal blocks mounted at a 180° angle, the rack-mountable patch panel features color-coded labeling for T568A and T568B wiring schemes, and it's compatible with Cat 6, 5e, 5, 4, and 3 cables. Wires can be inserted into the patch panel using a 110 or krone punch down tool.

Q: 1. Can unit be wall mounted? It looks like it may have screw accommodations for angle brackets.

A: It could be wall mounted, but only with right-angle brackets that fit the hole patterns on the switch. No brackets are supplied with the switch. The patterns on the case appear to be like those you would find for rack mounting equipment with right-angle brackets on the left and right of the front face. Don't know thread of the holes. The square they form is 20mm center-to-center on a side. Square is 18mm from front, 12mm from bottom and 13mm from top. There are no openings on the top or bottom of the case.

Q: 2. What size screws do the front port holes use for adapators? I bought TecNec SCREW-38B 4-40 x 3/8" Flat Heads, but they too small

A: The My Custom Shop 16-Port Unloaded Rackmount Panel with Rear Lacing Bar (1 RU) does not have threaded mounting holes, so you will need to use a nut with your screws. The recommended screw is SCREW-38B and the corresponding nut would be the NUT-CMT.

Q: 3. size?

A: the part size is approximately 1.5 cm square by about 3cm long. Should have a square drive 1 cm to accommodate the piece.

Q: 4. What are the differences between this switch and the TEG-S24g listed for $123.99?

A: Comparing the specs, they are essentially the same, although not identically written.This S24dg does not come with rack-mount ears, and I believe the d in the model number refers to it being a desktop version; it comes with rubber feet you can attach for that usage.

Q: 5. Is this hub compatible with Apple USB SuperDrive?

A: According to apple's specs, the superdrive uses USB type A, the 'standard' type (before USB-C), and the HUB uses type A, so I assume it should be compatible.

Q: 6. How long is the cable of the hub?

A: The cable length is about 3 inches long. Pretty short.

Q: 7. Will this work for the Neutrik D series pieces?

A: The Gator panel is compatible with Neutrik connectors that feature a D series housing.

I am using this to connect multiple computers and network devices in a business office. It works perfectly, and took only as much time as required to plug it in and plug in the Cat5 cables to get it set up and running. Can't ask for any more than that! 5

I have been happy with these switches. I had two five ports of this brand and I needed more room in one so I got this 16 port. I have never had any problems with them and would buy again. The only problem I had after buying this one was my own fault. This unit has the power supply built into the case instead of using a power block on the cord so it is pretty good sized and I didn't pay attention to that so I had to do so moving around. But like I said, that was my fault. 5

I have 7 computers and need at least 12 ports so this was ideal. I may connect an over-the-air tv antenna and some camers so I thought 16 ports should be enough. I plan on doing lots of video streaming and don't whant to use wireless. The TEG-S16 has nice strong connections (RJ45 feel very secure). I like having a plug for power and not one of those power adapter bricks. I haven't had a chance to do straming yet so I can't check how fast it realy is. All my computers do active the gigbit speeds leds on the TEG-S16 switch. The speed of transfer is almost entirely dictated by the hard drive. I have a old compute that uses the old ata interface and takes a long time to transfer 4.35 GB dvd's however the new hdd speeds are 3 times faster. I like this switch. There is one think I don't like about the TEG-16 even though I gave it 5 stars. It dosn't come whith the capability of mounting on a ply-wood board vertically and has to be kept on a flat serface. I will have to rig something up to fasten it to the ply-wood. 5

After a recent renovation, I ran cat-5e to every room in the house, in hope of having less traffic through the wireless and a more secure environment. It just made sense at that point to upgrade to GigE, and this product was perfect for the project, given the extra number of connections. 5
