Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this Filter effect the image quality, being that it is classified as a Multi-coated UV Filter ?

A: No, coatings are good. The more coatings a filter has the better. The coatings help keep light on a straight path to the sensor which increases/maintains sharpness and contrast.

Q: 2. The description mentions Schott glass from Germany. Is this filter manufactured completely in Germany or where?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 67mm MRC-UV Filter is made in China.

Q: 3. Does this filter have front threads as well?

A: Yes Tiffen 82mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter does have 82mm front accessory threads.

Q: 4. Zeiss or Hoya HD3 CP? They are about equal in price, but which is the better filter for Sony f/2.8 24-70?

A: Both filters have an anti-reflective coating, but the Hoya HD3 would have a 16 layer coating which prevents scratches, stain, and is water resistant, for easier cleaning. Also it has a thinner ring which is better for wider lenses like a Sony 24-70mm f/2.8.

Q: 5. Does anyone have photo examples of this lens?

A: This filter gives the appearance of 5 multiple exposures, similar to the image below: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/images/images500x500/Hoya_S77MV5F_77mm_Multivision_5F_Glass_94145.jpg

Q: 6. Does it enable the use of a lens cap?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 82mm MRC-UV Filter does not have front filter threads, so a lens cap cannot be used.

Q: 7. Will this fit the Canon EF-S 18-55 f/4-f/5.6 IS STM lens?

A: Yes. Alternatively, you can also get the bayonet-style lens hood designed for this lens: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/945065-REG/canon_8268b001_ew_63c_lens_hood_for.html

Q: 8. How thick is the frame?

A: The HD3 Cir/Pol filter is 5mm thick.

Q: 9. I've purchased this but when I rotate it I see no difference in the image. I bought this to remove reflections from windows but they remain just as strong as when I don't have the filter on. Am I doing something wrong?

A: The light needs to be at least partially polarized for a polarizer like this to work. If you are looking straight at the window and trying to remove reflections from behind you will see the least effect. You can experiment by putting yourself and the reflection you want to remove at an angle to the glass and you should start seeing more of an effect. You should find it is quite sensitive to the angle of reflection.

Q: 10. Just to be sure, does the 49mm filter have a revolving feature as previous filters or is it a fixed immovable one?

A: Yes, all Circular Polarizing filters rotate.

the polarizing filter is great for color saturation and controlling non metallic reflections the ND 4 filter allows you to use slower shutter speeds for good effect and the UV filter is a good stay on the lens filter helps protect the lens from dust and scratches. An overall good and useful deal!
