The Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod is a three-section support that replaces the 055XPROB tripod. It has a load capacity of 44 lb and extends from 3.5" to 67". Its legs are secured by the Quick Power Locks. These updated flip locks increase the tripod's rigidity by 50%, and its load capacity by 4.4 lb over its predecessor.

A redesigned center column has a "one finger" operation, and includes an Easy Link attachment for attaching accessories such as an LED light or a reflector. The center column can be positioned horizontally, allowing for low-angle and macro photography. The upper disc where a tripod head is mounted has been redesigned as well, and now has a bull's eye bubble level that rotates 360° so you can locate it where you can see it. This allows you to level your camera on both the horizontal and vertical planes.

Q: 1. Are these two the same product, where one is on sale? a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1034143-REG target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1034143-REG/a

A: yes, the products are the same. This is a B&H kit where they are selling the two separate items together, while the other one is the actual Manfrotto kit that comes together in one box.

Q: 2. Is there an optional strap that attaches to this Manfrotto tripod legs to carry over my shoulders? What is the part and link?

A: Absolutely. They make a lot of tripod straps that could work this way, and the Manfrotto tripods have a tripod strap clip that's on the apex/spider of the legs. One side of the strap will clip in while the velcro straps will wrap over the other end's three legs. https://bhpho.to/3y53x4e https://bhpho.to/37Zcb9H Alternatively, you could get a tripod bag which has shoulder straps that's padded to prevent bumps and bruises when the tripod swings around.

Q: 3. Using a Manfrotto 128RC head what size Manfrotto case is the best fit?

A: The Manfrotto MBAG80PN will be a perfect fit.

Q: 4. Which Manfrotto bag models fits this tripod?

A: For the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod with 054 Q2 Magnesium Ball Head, you could look at the Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag (B&H # MAMBAG80PN) or the MBAG80N Unpadded Tripod Bag (B&H # MAMBAG80N).

Q: 5. how much does the 055XPROB weigh? how much does the 055CXPRO3 weigh?

A: The specs on this website says 5.5 lbs for the 055CXPR03

Q: 6. Does this tripod extend to 72 inches or not?

A: This tripod kit has a maximum height of 72 inches. The max height of the legs alone are 66.9 inches, with the head adding another 5.1 inches.

Q: 7. what is the difference between manfrotto mt055 xpro3 and mt190 xpro3 (aluminum) ?

A: The 055-series is larger, heavier, and sturdier than the 190-series. XPRO3 stands for their X-PRO series of tripods with 3 sections (XPRO4 would mean 4-sections) and can extend laterally for top-down shooting as well. The 190-series comes in X (no lateral) and XPRO versions, but the 055 is only available in XPRO.

Q: 8. Any reason why the kit form of this exact tripod and ball head is cheaper?? (And also includes an expensive camera bag for free)??

A: Sales and prices change frequently. If its a good price now, Id take the plunge. I bought it after lurking for weeks and not long after, the price went up over $75. My kit did not come with a bag.

Q: 9. What is the Black Plastic Removable Clip for? Instructions say it is for tightening the locks, but I don't see how? They did include what looks like a small metal torx wrench which I think performs that function?

A: The plastic clip has a raised round section that works like a socket. You put that on the back side of the flip lock to tighten or loosen it.

Q: 10. How do you configure this tripod for 3.5 setup?

A: Hi Peter,I'll try to explain the way that I have done this. For this configuration, I use the X PROball head because it allows for the easiest adjustments. First, hold the tripod as if you have just removed it from the box with the head pointed in the upward position. At the top of each leg, located just below the silver head mounting plate, you will see a rectangular silver lever approximately 2 1/4 inches long. This lever is the leg lock release. At the bottom of this lever, you will see an inverted triangle (with the point facing down). While holding the tripod by the other two legs, place your thumb on the triangle , of the leg you are working on, and apply downward pressure. You should feel the lock release. While maintaining this pressure, rotate the leg upward until it is in a horizontal position. This is the maximum the tripod will allow the leg to move. Release the pressure from your thumb and the leg will lock in place horizontally. Repeat this process for the other two legs. Now all three legs should be horizontal and the central shaft should still be vertical. Next, locate the wing-nut by the red emblem just below the silver head mounting plate. Unlock this wing-nut by turning it open. Invert the tripod so that the head mounting plate is seated in your left hand. At the bottom of the central shaft , you will see a large red triangular shaped button. Press this button and maintain pressure as you slowly push the central shaft upward. Continue pushing until you hear the lock engage . Invert the tripod right-side up. Then rotate the head mounting plate to the left of the wing-nut and the central shaft will now lay on top of the opposing leg. Next, turn the wing-nut to the locked position. Attach the X PROball Head and rotate the camera mounting plate to the upward position. Attach camera and you are ready to take low level pictures. Reverse each step of this process to return the tripod to its original position. Hope this helps.

This was recommended to my by my photography teacher. I for some reason always had difficulties using tripods. But I found this one very easy to use. It is very sturdy and easy to use. I used it for the first time this past weekend at a sunset photo workshop. I was extremely pleased with it.
