Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. IS this compatible with Mamiya M645 manual focus lenses?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Mamiya 645 AF/AFD Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Camera Pro Lens Adapter can be used to adapt Mamiya 645 manual focus lenses.

Q: 2. Does this work with the A7II?

A: I use this with an A7R and several Mamiya lenses, they work great. Just remember auto focus and auto aperture do not work, you must use manual mode. You can use aperture priority mode if you want the camera to set both ISO and Shutter speed. Use Peaking Level to assist with focus, may need to keep the aperture open to get light to focus. Also set Zebra on to help with exposure. Fit of the adapter to both lens and body has been snug with no movement or wiggle. I plan to add several more used Mamiya lenses

Q: 3. Will this adapter works with the Sony PXW FS7?

A: It works perfectly of my FS5 so I would say it will work perfectly on a FS7. :-) Naturally only with manual focus and manual iris.

Q: 4. I assume this adapter does NOT have an aperture actuation lever to stop down the lens upon exposure; correct? Is it a preset-type adapter?

A: This Fotodiox Pro Mount Adapter does not have an aperture actuation lever.

Q: 5. does this work with sony e mount, the a6000 as well? thanks

A: I use it with the a7 series with amazing results. I have the 80mm 2.8 and the 150mm 3.5 and they're both insanely sharp. So you should have no problem using it on the a6000. Good luck with your purchase.

Q: 6. Interesting. What Mamiya 645 lenses work with this adaptor? Only the latest digital lenses, older Mamiya AF film lenses, or even manual focus film era lenses? If they work, How do they perform image-quality wise in DX and/or FX modes?

A: The Mamiya 645 lens mount did not change over time so all lens will mount on the adapter. Please be aware, with the newer AF models, the adapter has no provision to adjust the f/stop as this was done through the AF 645 camera bodies. Generally speaking, optical designs for larger formats do not have the resolving power for a lens designed for a smaller format such as 35mm. You might find 35mm lens outperform medium format lens when viewed side by side. The reason being that due to the larger capture area, there was no need to render detail in a small area. One advantage of using a medium format lens on a smaller format body is the ability to use swings and tilts much like you would on a view camera.

Q: 7. will this work with x-Pro1?

A: Yes, it will work with the Xpro1.

Q: 8. will this adapter fit a mamiya sekor cs 50mm f1.7?

A: This adapter only accepts Mamiya Sekor lenses for the 645 system.

Q: 9. will this work with canon 5d mark 3? And will this work with Mamiya 645 AF lenses?

A: I use it to attach my Mamiya 645 lenses to my Canon 6D, the baby-brother of the 5DM3, and it works fine. It's not as perfect as having it hooked up to your Mamiya, but it never will be. But you will unlock the greatness of a medium-frame format lens onto a full-frame 35mm equal and the results are like nothing you can get from a Canon lens. I'm not saying superior, but in many ways, they're up there with the traditional L lenses, and if you bought the Mamiya lenses used, you probably didn't spend the L prices. Good luck.

Q: 10. Does it work with the newer autofocus lenses used with the DF +? Does the auto Focus functions work anywhere lenses?

A: This adapter is not suitable for newer Mamiya 645 lenses with autofocus which would work with the DF+.
