A: The Sony Cyber-shot RX1R II is considered a point and shoot, not a mirrorless camera. The reason is the Sony Cyber-shot RX1R II has a built-in Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm f/2 Lens. Mirrorless cameras allow you to change the lens.

Q: 5. How large (in megabytes) is an individual, typical RAW image file generated by this camera?

A: The RAW file with compression is 42MB. With compression turned off it's 85MB. When you turn that file into a tiff, for example, the file is around 120 MB. I use the camera with the RAW lossless compression turned on. So far, I dont feel I need to add the slight amount of sharpness that the uncompressed file enables.

A: Yes, it is possible to record video longer than 29 minutes and 59 seconds with the Sony s6500. All you have to do is use an external recorder. The grip fits perfectly and is quite well made - has a nice heft. Like most grips, it adds a bit of weight, and makes it a little harder to access the battery and memory card. The grip is a must for the RX1Rii 5

This grip is lightweight but sturdy and enables me to hold the RX1r2 steadier and even shoot with one hand. I'll never understand why Sony didn't design the camera with a built-in grip, but I'm sure glad Fotodiox came to the rescue. 5

Maybe its more because my hands are XL, but this really makes the camera a whole lot easier to hold and just feels more secure. The battery door opens fine on the bottom with this in place. Its still a small form factor, and it can be removed quickly if you want to shrink the size back down to fit in a smaller bag or pocket. The price is reasonable considering how some companies are charging much higher prices for the same type of thing. 5
