Ideal for avid outdoor enthusiasts who need to move fast without sacrificing performance, the Swarovski Optik CCT Compact Carbon Tripod Legs extends to a maximum height of 63.8", and can hold up to 40 pounds of gear despite it's light 3.3-pound weight.

Made with 6 layers of carbon fiber to make it extremely lightweight yet rigid, the four leg sections extend with simple twist locks for fast set up and break down, with each leg capable of being independently placed in one of three angle positions to accommodate extremely uneven/rough/rocky terrain. The extendable center column is detachable for more compact packing, and features a hook at the bottom to hang bags or weights for added stability. Its head mount has dual 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threads to allow almost any photo/video/field head or optic to be attached to the top. Two removable shoulder pads make carrying it more comfortable.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this head arca swiss compatible?

A: Yes, it is!

Q: 2. Does this tripod head have a single knob for both pan and tilt (like the old Gitzo 1720?) or does it have two separate knobs? Thank you

A: For all intents, and purposes it would be considered one knob inside of another knob. So it is one whole knob, technically.

Q: 3. What do I need to pair this with my Manfrotto 608 Nitrotech Fluid Head. It has a flat base whereas the tripod has a 75mm bowl?

A: You need a half ball adapter such as the Manfrotto 520BALL 75mm Half Ball (B&H # MA520BALL MFR # 520BALL)

Q: 4. How do you tighten the legs to stop them from slipping?

A: If the brakes are slipping when the red locking arm is engaged on a given leg, it's simple to tighten. I believe it's a 12mm hex bolt on the backside of each brake. Simply loosen the red locking arm completely, then give the hex a couple of small adjustments and re-test. DO NOT over-tighten, as you might crack the carbon fiber, which is a much bigger problem! Make small adjustments and test. You shouldn't need more than a quarter turn or so in most cases.

Q: 5. Induro pu-50 plates will not mount on this head - any suggestions? Also the included plate is 3/8 inch - is 1/4 inch available.

A: If you remove the safety pins from the Induro plate, it will fit in the Swarovski head. Alternatively you could use the RRS plate which comes without the safety pin attached: https://bhpho.to/31NfN97

Q: 6. Comparing this to the satchler flowtech legs, which feels more durable and less prone to slipping?

A: I would say over all the Sachtler Flowtech legs are going to be a bit better at managing slips than the Manfrotto 635 FAST Single Leg Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs, in part due to the ability to add a mid level or a ground spreader.

Q: 7. Will the head fit a Swarovski ATS spotting scope with the older foot style without an adapter?

A: The Swarovski CCT Compact Carbon Tripod with CTH Compact Tripod Head comes with a quick release plate for use with scopes that do not have an Arca Swiss style foot.

Q: 8. Will this head work with the Swarovski Spotting Scope with the 115mm lens?

A: Yes the Swarovski PCT Professional Carbon Tripod with PTH Professional Tripod Head will work with the Swarovski 115mm Objective Lens Module.

Q: 9. OConnor 60L 2-Stage is this item included mid spreader?

A: No, the mid-level spreader is not included. OConnor Mid-Level Spreader for 30L & 60L Tripods https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/868376-REG/oconnor_c1252_0001_mid_level_spreader_for.html

Q: 10. Has anyone successfully used a Sachtler Ace XL with these legs?

A: Yes it is possible to use a sachtler ACE XL (75mm Bowl) with these legs

Beefy support and fine tunable, allows balance of video camera and monitor with fluid drag to keep position without pan nor tilt lock, nice to keep up with subject that suddenly starts to move. I don't know about the more expensive heads with continuously adjustable balance if they do any better but the one suggestion for Manfrotto is to set the counterbalance zero point with the pan arm attached rather than starting quite biased toward the back or allow for some measure of fine tuning by the purchaser. As it is I set my monitor into a quite front heavy position to allow for video battery far enough back to allow rapid swap without camera dismount. I can see several ways in which Zero Tilt Point might be set rather than adjusting position of mounted gear. Still very pleased.

Using this to shoot the ballet on stage and day to day stuff. Counter balance is ok for panning and tilting for the cost.

For the price (especially on sale) the heads work great. I use the 612 build up with a canon c70 and linger lens and the 608 for an R5C.

The legs are decently fast and do the job. Have the aluminum version, kinda wish for the carbon ones now.

Have decided to upgrade to the Sachtler FBS 10 II and will use it with the fast 645 legs for now. Though the 612 is good, I'm looking for more drag and smother starts when panning.

I've owned many tripods and this one has been by far the best tripod I've ever owned. The durability and ease of use has taken my filmmaking game to the next level! Definitely worth every penny.
