The loud SPL Core 4099 Instrument Microphone from DPA is a supercardioid microphone with a 5.5" gooseneck that is designed to capture audio in a variety of applications: from piano to guitar, strings to woodwinds, or brass to percussion instruments. You can move the mic to another instrument by using the designated clip (sold separately) to mount it correctly. The Core amplifier technology offers an increased performance and natural sound across the entire dynamic range. Furthermore, the supercardioid polar pattern allows the microphone to reject unwanted noise and accurately capture the true voice of your acoustic instrument. The Core 4099 requires a cable and adapter (sold separately).

Q: 1. Hello, what dead cat furry wind protector would fit on these microphones? Both with a foam windshield and without. Thank you.

Q: 2. Is this mic gain hungry? Or does it have good amount of output? I am going to use Zoom H5 with this, and because it doesnt have the greatest preamps in the world, I need something with good power. (Good reference will be Nt1 or At2020, which I currentoy have. compare to them, is this mic at simiar level or noticably quieter?)

A: No. This Mic is NOT power hungry; its Sensitivity, at 14.6 mV falls in the middle category: Lewitt LCT 140 Performance Maximum SPL 135 dB SPL Peak Sensitivity 14.6 mV/Pa Dynamic Range 115 dB A-Weighted Equivalent Noise Level 20 dB A-Weighted Condenser microphones typically have a higher-than-“normal” sensitivity, at least as they compare to dynamic microphones, which usually have a much lower sensitivity. Depending on the application, For live/stage applications the sensitivity may present a problem. For Studio applications, usually less of an issue. Higher-sensitivity (condenser) microphones can be helpful in lower-SPL applications, such as recording dialogue or vocals. Most small diaphram condenser mics have medium sensitivity. If higher sensitivity (less gain hungry), you may want to consider other mics as shown in links below. Here is another Mic (albeit more expensive) to Consider, has higher gain: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1365779-REG/se_electronics_se_8_small_diaphragm_condenser_microphone.html/specs Performance Frequency Range 20 Hz to 20 kHz Maximum SPL Cardioid: 159 dB SPL Peak Impedance Cardioid: 110 Ohms Load Impedance 1 Kilohms Sensitivity Cardioid: 25 mV/Pa Signal-to-Noise Ratio Cardioid: 81 dB Equivalent Noise Level Cardioid: 13 dB A-Weighted

Q: 3. Hi For acoustic guitar recording, what would be the difference between two AE-5100 and a pair of AT-4041SP?

A: The AE-5100 is a large diaphragm instrument mic. It has a wider dynamic range, able to handle higher Sound Pressure levels and better signal to noise ratio than the small diaphragm 4041. In terms of recording acoustic guitar, the AE-5100 does have a richer tone, and offer a better recording of dynamic performances.

Q: 4. Does this work for any DSLR? I have the Nikon D3100.

A: The Audio-Technica ATR1300 is a dynamic mic which requires no external powering. This makes it widely compatible with devices that feature mic input capabilities. This is true for DSLRs as well as portable audio recorders and similar devices. Unfortunately the Nikon D3100 specifically, does not offer an external mic input jack and would not be able to this or external mics in general.

Q: 5. Do I need a pre-amp to connect it to a laptop?

A: The Audio-Technica Pro 35 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone requires a USB audio interface with XLR inputs for connection to a computer.

Q: 6. Will the power module fit into a xvive phantom power unit?

A: Yes, you can use the Audio-Technica Pro 35 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone with the Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply with Rechargeable Battery (B&H # XVP1). The Pro 35 is also compatible for use with the Xvive Audio U3C Set Wireless Plug-On System for Condenser Microphones - 2.4 GHz (B&H # XVU3CSET). The transmitter in this system will supply phantom power for the mic.

Q: 7. will this work transforming a line level coming from a mixing board to a Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus?

A: No, the Hosa MIT-129 will not convert a line level signal to mic level and the connectors on this adapter are the wrong type. The XLR output on a mixer is male so you would need a female XLR connector on your cable or adapter and the mic input on the Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus is 3.5mm TRS, not 1/4". Since mixers typically have separate left and right output, you can use a line to mic attenuator cable like the Sescom SES-43DB-MZ2XJ 43 dB Pad DSLR Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2XJ) which has left and right XLR female connectors to use for the output from the mixer and a 3.5mm TRS male connector for the mic input on the Magewell adapter. Additionally, the Sescom cable is designed specifically to convert line level signal to mic level.

Q: 8. Do I need a pre-amp setup to connect the AT Pro35 mic to a laptop? Is it plug and play?

A: Yes, Audio-Technica Pro 35 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone requires a preamp or mixer to provide phantom power for the capsule to work.

Q: 9. Is this adapter compatible with Lectrosonics SSM transmitter?

A: This is not published specification. Please contact DPA directly:DPA Microphones, Inc.1500 Kansas Avenue, Unit 3ALongmont, CO 80501USATel. +1 303-485-1025Email: info-usa@dpamicrophones.com

Q: 10. how to switch on /off switches as fingure tips can’t reach them

A: Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the switches. I suggest looking into a rubber thimble used for turning pages, as those can help increase friction and move the switches to the desired positions.
