Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how do you attach to an iphone 7 plus?

A: Forget about this. Its impossible. This mic is vailable only for iPhone with mini jack

Q: 2. I understand the VideoMic Me is designed for devices where the camera is on the opposite side from the audio input jack. I have a Galaxy S5 (which has them on the same side) - would it be possible to make it work if (hypothetically) I could find a short TRRS extension cable?

A: By using a cable you will still be feeding audio into your smartphone but keep in mind the TRRS jack on the VideoMic Me is also the physical connection point that holds the mic onto the phone.

Q: 3. SAMSUNG GALAXY 7 EDGE?

A: I bought mine for an iPhone 6 and did't like the mic as it produced hisses and pops. The phones mic is better that this one.

Q: 4. Can I use this with my smartphone (galaxy s5) as a hands free device for the car? The phone is already paired with a fm Bluetooth device.

A: This mic plugs into the earphone jack, and once plugged in I would expect to get no sound from the phone as the phone will think that you are using earphones. I would suggest either asking Rode or you phone provider.

Q: 5. Would this work with the iPhone 7 if you had the headphone jack adapter?

A: With the 3.5mm to lightning adapter cable, the VideoMic Me can be connected and work with the iPhone 7.

Q: 6. Will the RDE VideoMic Me iPhone Shotgun Mic work on an Apple iPod Touch?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. Does the Rycote Lyre Shock-Mount of the Rode VideoMicro also work with the Rode Videomic Me?

A: No it does not, and is not sold separately anyway.

Q: 8. Will this work with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8?

A: Hello Kurt, as long as you have a standard TRRS 1/8" input to the Note 8 this should work fine. Be careful not to block too much of the input with a third party case.

Q: 9. trcc extension cable?

A: The Rode SC1 3.5mm TRRS Microphone Extension Cable for Smartphones (BH #RORODSC1) is a TRRS cable extension option that could be used with the Rode VideoMic Me Directional Mic for Smartphones: https://bhpho.to/3N5Bien

Q: 10. Could the flex mount be removed to mount on cameras instead of phones? If not, would there be any downside to cutting off the flex mount so it could fit?

A: Hi Caleb, no the VideoMic Me won't connect direct to cameras as the connection is a TRRS plug designed for smart phones. The VideoMicro is essentially the same microphone but designed to sit on-camera. a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1183909-REG/rode_videomicro_compact_on_camera.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1183909-REG/rode_videomicro_compact_on_camera.html/a
