The black T-005SK T-0S Series Travel Tripod with B-00 Ball Head is a 5-section support with aluminum legs that extend, along with the 2-stage rapid center column, by unlocking each twist lock section. Therefore, the tripod can reach a maximum height of 53.8". With three variable leg angles, independent leg spread, and the removable center column, the legs can completely splay out to have a minimum height 3.1". To store or carry the 2.4 lb tripod, the legs fold 180° to produce a compact 12.2" support.

The tripod is capable of supporting a camera and lens that weigh up to 11 lb, and the magnesium-alloy spider has an integrated bubble level to level out your horizon. The B-00 Arca-type compatible head is included with the tripod.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this available as the legs only , no ballhead?

A: Unfortunately not. We only currently carry this model with the ball head.

Q: 2. Does it have Arca-Type Compatible QR Plate?

A: The Sirui B-00 Series Mini Ball Head (Black) B&H # SISUB00BK that comes with this tripod uses a Sirui TY-C10 Quick Release Plate which is listed as Arca-Type Compatible.

Q: 3. Can the tripod take on Nikon D750 with 24-70mm len?

A: Yes this would take a Nikon D750 with 24-70mm just fine.

Q: 4. Does the ballhead work fine with Sony A7R3 + Sony 16-35 f2.8 / 24-105mm lens veristically?

A: It should. I use my Nikon D750 and with a 28-300mm lens on it. It is a travel tripod, so you may not get the height you want in some situations. It works for me. It fits in my backpack and carry-on luggage and it's also light.

Q: 5. Will this tripod work well with a RRS BH-55 ball head?

A: It wouldn't work well. The tripod head supports significantly more than the tripod could, and even with a medium-weight camera, due to the combination of head + medium camera/lens combo, the center of gravity would make it more likely to topple over. A good combination with the 005 from RRS would likely be the BPC-16 microball or (if you want to push it) the more compact BH30.

Q: 6. has anyone actually weighed their tripod? is it actually 2.2lbs? I've seen in other Sirui tripods that people have said the tripod is heavier than advertised.

A: It is 1.8lbs without the head & 2.2 lbs with head

Q: 7. Is there any way to configure this as a monopod?

A: I'm sorry, no, this is only a tripod.

Q: 8. does the center column have a hook on the bottom to hang weight for stability?

A: yes there is a carabina .

Q: 9. Does it came with carrying case?

A: Yes, they come with a pouch case.

Q: 10. I feel 2nd stage center column (top most one) is actually a plastic material even thought it look like carbon material. Also screw threads of top 2nd stage column threads is plastic which can be screwed to round base. This plastic screw threads in long run usage will be like a 'weak link in strong chain'. What is your opinion ? Thanks for looking at my question/query.

A: It is carbon fiber

This is my second Sirui head/legs combo. The first traveled as far as Colorado and Hungary and still worked fine despite eight years worth of bumps and scratches. I lost it on a hike and had to replace it.

The 2020 model is similar to the 2012 model and is just as good. Very sturdy when open and very compact when shut -- it travels well and holds the camera well.

I give it five stars because it is well made and perfectly suited to its function. Some caveats that may influence your decision:

Stated dimensions on the B&H website are 12 inches folded length and 2 pounds weight. The one I got is a hair under 13 inches and is 2 pounds 5.6 ounces (without the QR plate). Also, the photo shows foam insulation on all three legs, but the one I got has foam on just two legs. Finally, you need to give the head a final strong twist to lock it onto the stem or else it will spin around at the wrong time. That I don't like. But the head holds once it's on there firmly.

The unit advertised is a T-005SK. The one shipped to me was a T-005US. Perhaps that accounts for the missing foam and different dimensions.

I use this mainly as a travel and backpacking tripod and this is a fantastic tripod. The build quality is great, the ball head is sturdy and it is easy to use. I would highly recommend this tripod and I would buy it again.

This little tripod is very well engineered and made. Nice features on the leg design for setting the right level to safely balance a camera. The ball head is quick and easy to adjust with tightening knob securing the position accurately. With the legs fully extended it is a bit spindly but is adjustable to wider leg stance to hold all in better balance. Shorter leg extension is very secure. The low level stance is the best feature. Quite compact with nice carrying bag. Nicely portable and compact.

I bought this Tripod because I got tired of carrying my full size RRS Tripod around on long trips. It’s small, lightweight, and fits in a normal size backpack. With 30 second night exposures, it produces excellent pictures that are tack sharp and crisp. I’m using a Canon 6d and 16-35mm. The only negatives are if you’re in a windy area, it can can vibrate a tad, even with weighing it down. But if you’re in a windy area, all lightweight tripods are going to vibrate some. Buy a full size Tripod if that’s going to be a concern.
