Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What's the life of the images printed?

A: Unfortunately there isn't a specific answer, it depends on how the prints are stored, humidity, light and other factors. But in optimal conditions it would last for years.

Q: 2. How does this surface compare with the now discontinued Gold Fibre Silk?

A: Its essentially just an updated version.

Q: 3. Inkjet metallic paper for canon printer

A: Yes it is for canon printer!

Q: 4. Does this paper still have the barcoding on the back?

A: The last I purchased a few months ago does not have barcoding

Q: 5. Would this paper also work good with a Canon Pixma ip8720 photo printer?

A: This has been my experience in the reverse: I have printed another brand of paper on my Epson printer, and the colors seem to somewhat off even though my printer has an option for printing other brand papers. Somehow the quality does not seem to be the same. It seems that each paper brand has its own specific thickness to its printer brand. And perhaps differences in each printers color calibration or differences in the ink used? You can by a small packet of the Epson semi-gloss and try it out on your Canon printer to see what the result will be.

Q: 6. Do yo know if there is a two sided version of the HP Premium Plus Photo paper soft gloss for inkjet printers?

A: No the paper only comes single-sided.

Q: 7. Can someone who has printed extensively on Gold Fibre Silk describe any differences between that and this new Gold Fibre Gloss paper other than the heavier weight? Is paper base around the same level of white? Is the surface any different looking/feeling?

A: Both papers are about the same level of white. The only difference is the thickness.

Q: 8. Will this produce good results on my HP 6300 series printer?

A: i used it on an Epson 3880 and it worked well. have not tried it on an HP printer.

Q: 9. Will this paper work in my Canon MP990 color printer. I have used HP Premium Photo Paper, Matte for many years and now have to find something else seeing as it is no longer available. I do a lot of photography and that paper was perfect.

A: This paper is compatible with your Canon printer.

Q: 10. I've had issues with this paper curling as soon as it's removed from the box. This is causing the print heads to strike the paper. The directions that came with the paper recommend: if the paper curls, straighten it. Not a lot of help. How do your straighten this paper?

A: It depends how the paper is stored and for how long. It is recommended that you store your paper flat. You can purchase a paper decurler, but we don't sell them. Engineers have taught me a trick, if the paper is not too long, and your microwave large enough the paper can be slightly wound up, and put in the microwave on low ONLY for 10-15 seconds and this may relax and refresh the chemical compounds in the paper.
