The Prism Sound ADA-8XR Frame is a rack-mountable 2 RU audio interface chassis designed to deliver versatile clocking and configurability for producers, musicians, and audio engineers in home, project, and commercial studios. Its modular design yields flexible I/O arrangements thanks to four I/O module slots—two analog and two digital. A variety of modules (available separately) can be installed for access to multichannel analog/digital inputs and outputs as well as Pro Tools or FireWire workstation connectivity.

The ADA-8XR Frame supports resolutions up to 24-bit/192 kHz, and can clock internally or to external AES3, AES11, word clock, or Pro Tools Loop Sync. The built-in Utility Module provides stereo analog RCA and digital BNC audio outputs, BNC word clock and XLR AES11 sync I/O, and a DB9 serial communications port. Additionally, the front panel has a 1/4" stereo headphone output along with assignable 8-channel bargraph meters. An onboard display and comprehensive controls enable efficient adjustment of parameters, which can be quickly stored and recalled via factory and user presets. The ADA-8XR Frame comes with no I/O modules, ready for custom configurations.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this interface work with Mac Catalina?

A: Yes, this interface is compatible with macOS Catalina.

Q: 2. Does the XL-AES allow the 833 to record more than 8 channels?

A: Yes, Now that the +4 plug-in has been released. If purchased, the XL-AES does add 8 balanced physical inputs to the original 6. +4 plug-in Brings the total isolated channels to 12, you now have the physical inputs to back it up.

Q: 3. does it work with windows 8 ?

A: Dear my husband is actually using it on Mac so I don't know if it is compatable for windows 8 or not.

Q: 4. Does the USB interface provide the option for simultaneous input/output, or is it just one or the other at any time?

A: The USB interface sends and receives audio simultaneously.

Q: 5. What are the pros and cons of using a shielded cat5e/6 for the audio engine connection?

A: Hi Harold! Thank you for your question. Shielded cables are more effective for blocking interference in comparison to unshielded, so installing high-quality shielded cables will help to ensure high speed performance. However, I would recommend contacting Technical Support for your region - they will be more than happy to look further into this query for you. They will be able to advise you on the best option for your particular situation.

Q: 6. Can I use Pro Tools software with this?

A: I use it with Logic and Garage Band, so I assume you can. There maybe some info online about compatibility as well, I assume. Hope that's helpful.

Q: 7. Can this be used with programs such as DaVinci resolve (fairlight), Adobe audition, premiere, avid, etc?

A: Yes, the ART USBMix6 Mixer has a built-in USB audio interface that is class-compliant with Mac and Windows operating systems, and it can be used with the included audio software or with your own audio software such as Adobe Audition or Premiere, Avid Pro Tools, or Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve.

Q: 8. Can you confirm that you can run all 24 analog outputs from the DAC at 192Khz simultaneously, and at what bit depth (24 or 32) ?

A: Yes, the MOTU 24Ao USB/AVB 72 Channel Audio Interface can run 24 analog outputs simultaneously. The analog outputs offer 32-bit trim in the DAC and are also adjustable in 1 dB increments.

Q: 9. Are the 8 input channels Stereo?

A: No, they are mono microphone inputs.

Q: 10. Can you use a regular cat5 cable for the audio engine cable? Also, What is the longest length recommended.

A: Hi, Harold. Thank you for your question. You can use a CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable in place of the ToneMatch cable. This is suitable for connecting a T4S to an L1 Model II or L1 Model 1S. Fifty feet is the recommended maximum. If you have more questions like this, please visit our Bose Portable PA Community. https://www.bosepro.community/g/portable Thank you.
