A: Well, if a non-technical description is suitable, the clips themselves are plastic and if anything could be larger but seem quite durable. The straps are elastic and work quite well. I'm a 44 regular and I basically don't even notice it when I'm wearing it. My binocs are Nikons, and are heavier than most models and this harness handles them easily. I use them when hunting and have gone thru two seasons w/o issue. I wear them under my coat and do not have any difficulty raising them up to eye level.

A: I just had to unscrew by hand the small thumb screws holding the exisiting straps on the binos and put on the included connectors and reinstall the screws. It comes with a pictorial showing how to do it. You then clip the harness to the new connectors with a nylon snap-in connector at the end of the new connection straps. This allows you to quickly disconnect the harness if you just want to hold the binoculars without the harness. There is also another connection strap included if your binos do not have the screw-type connections. Quick and easy.
