The black QSC E112 is a trapezoidal, two-way loudspeaker, well suited for sound reinforcement applications including live performance, DJ and dance music, karaoke, and event production. The E112 requires an amplifier with a minimum of 400W continuous (1600W peak) to power the 12" woofer and 1" compression driver that combine to offer a frequency response of 64 Hz to 20 kHz (-6 dB) with a peak SPL of 128 dB. QSC recommends the use of a DSP speaker processor or a power amplifier with integrated DSP in order to set crossovers, limiting, and equalization to ensure the best performance. QSC's GXD or PLD amplifiers, as well as TouchMix digital mixers offer on-board DSP and factory-tuned presets, which provide settings for live sound reinforcement (with and without subwoofers), stage monitoring, dance music, and karaoke.

The 15mm, 11-ply enclosure provides a direct-match-transition (DMT) coverage angle of 85°, which is suitable for most medium and medium-to-long-throw applications. An all-metal, dual-angle, 35mm socket allows the loudspeaker to be mounted vertically on a pole or angled down by 10° to improve audience coverage and reduce rear wall reflections. Multiple mounting options using E Series Yoke or M8 eyebolts (sold separately) are supported. Input connections include dual NL4 as well as screw terminal receptacles.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. As pictured, it could not be used with L-brackets for up-down tilt. Can the Arca-style baseplate be re-indexed by 90 degrees, so that it runs parallel to the tilt axis?

A: According to this photo on Leofoto's website (https://bit.ly/35UuwVg), the arca-swiss clamp atop the head is removable, albeit it might be securely glued down using a strong adhesive. Assuming you are able to remove and reorient the clamp, you should be able to mount the camera parallel to the axis of motion, allowing you to tilt forward and back rather than side-to-side. I will caution against this as we have no way of determining how the arca-swiss clamp is mounted to the head, as other brands have sometimes made their models difficult to change. The reason for this is because usually monopod heads like these are primarily for mounting to long lens collars. Leofoto has a different model that offers an indexing/panning clamp which might be more suitable for you called the VH30R. By default, that system allows for reorientation of the clamp to accommodate cameras and lenses.

Q: 2. Can the top clamp be removed, more importantly, can the top clamp be rotated by 90 degree and secured to allow mounting of a camera plate?

A: No it cant be rotated

Q: 3. The 2 units can be synced and work properly at the same time with blue tooth linked device?

A: Yes you can link two of the HK Polar 12 speakers together with a bluetooth device synced to one of them.

Q: 4. Will this device allow me to attach one directional antenna together with two diversity receivers for wireless microphones ?

A: You would need two of each for two receivers. Each receiver needs two separate antennas. So you would not need a 4-way splitter to do this. Two 2-way splitters would do the job if you have 2 antennas. The part number for a 2-way splitter is ZSC24.

Q: 5. Would this amp be a good option for an electric drum kit? Thanks

A: The Alto Professional TS412 2500W 12" 2-Way Active Loudspeaker with Bluetooth could be used with electric drum kits or modules that have line-level output.

Q: 6. What is the distance from the top hole to the bottom hole on the side that mounts to the equipment ?

A: The manufacturer has not provided any details about the distance between any of the mounting holes. You can contact QSC directly by phone at 714-754-6175 or 800-772-2834. Their offices are based in California.

Q: 7. Which cable is needed to connect to iPad

A: The QSC K12.2 Two-Way 12" 2000W Powered Portable PA Speaker with Integrated Speaker Processor could receive a hardwired signal from an iPad via its 3.5mm auxiliary input connection. To achieve this, a standard 3.5mm TRS to TRS cable would be required, such as the Pearstone Stereo Mini Male to Stereo Mini Male Cable (Black, 10')(BH #PEMMSA110B). The auxiliary cable would then need to be adapted to Lightning or USB Type-C with one of the 3.5mm adapters offered by Apple (or similar), depending on the connection on the iPad.

Q: 8. Is this one speaker or two?

A: It's for one passive speaker.

Q: 9. Do any of the K8.2, K10.2 or even the K12.2 have phantom power going to any of the inputs?

A: The inputs on these speakers do not provide phantom power. For microphones that require phantom power, it will be best to use a separate mixer that can provide power to the mics.

Q: 10. How will I connect two to one iPad

A: The best solution will be to connect your device to one speaker, then use the XLR Thru-Output to connect the first speaker to the second.
