Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this provide a 205-degree diagonal field of view for Canon APS-C? Does that mean that the lens can see behind itself?

A: The angle of view of a fisheye lens is not as accurate a description of the lens as for a non-fisheye lens, because fisheye lenses don't have a standard design, unlike many other lenses. The angle of view of the 7artisans Photoelectric 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens (Canon EF) on an APS-C image sensor would be approximately 180 degrees.

Q: 2. This Lens work on T4I?

A: Yes, the 7artisans Photoelectric 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens (Canon EF) will work with the Canon EOS Rebel T4i camera.

Q: 3. Auto focus

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Sony E is a manual focus lens. It does not autofocus.

Q: 4. How can I produce vignetting (black corners) with this lens on a nikon z30?

A: 7artisans Photoelectric 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Nikon Z is a Full-Frame Format lens so there is no way to produce vignette (black corners) with this lens on a Nikon Z30 straight from the camera. You can have that effect during post-processing.

Q: 5. What does the term Photoelectric mean?

A: The term Photoelectric on the 7artisans Photoelectric 4mm f/2.8 Circular Fisheye Lens for Micro Four Thirds just means it is a lens that was designed for digital. This is a purely mechanical lens, with mechanical aperture and focus control. This does not communicate with the camera.

Q: 6. Is there a setup that I can perform on a Sony alpha mirrorless so that I read the f-stop selected; my camera thinks that there is no lens attached

A: Unfortunately there isn't. 7artisans Photoelectric 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Sony E does not have any communication to the camera so the camera won't be able to register the aperture.

Q: 7. Has anyone found the lens profile used in Lightroom classic for correction?

A: The Lens Correction tool in Lightroom Classic is in the Develop Module. There are two tabs: Profile and Manual. Not all lenses have a profile and for those that don't you can manually correct.

Q: 8. Is there a version for RF?

A: No, the 7artisans Photoelectric 4mm f/2.8 Circular Fisheye Lens does not come in a RF version. Currently we have a 7artisans Photoelectric 4mm f/2.8 Circular Fisheye Lens for Canon EF-M.

Q: 9. Will I get circular vignetting on a nikon z30 with this?

A: 7artisans Photoelectric 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Nikon Z will not create a circular vignetting. It fills the frame. The corners are distorted but it fills the frame.

Q: 10. Is the lens shade removable?

A: The lens hood on the 7artisans Photoelectric 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens (Canon EF) is built in and does not come off.

Tried out this lens for some playing around with super wide angle for church interiors, ballparks, etc. Something I have not done before. Thought for the money it's not a big loss if the lens is not great. I was so surprised at the build quality and sharpness of this lens. Unless someone were really picky, I think you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between this lens and a much more expensive lens. I was also concerned about it being manual focus. I came to learn that with a super wide angle, it's almost always at infinity or I am shooting a still scene up close and auto focus is not necessary. Long story short, a great lens for a great price!!!

Watched/read several reviews of this lens before buying. All were very complementary and, to my surprise, accurate. Excellent lens, sharp, good contrast, excellent color rendition.

Sharp lens! Easy to use. Great for landscape photography. It will be in my bag when I travel to Iceland in May 2023.
Heavy and built like an armored vehicle.

Initially, I was not sure if I had made a wise purchase. Okay, it is a cheap, manual lens for my Nikon Z9. I already had a Nikkor14~24mm f/2.8 lens, but to use that huge lens with the FTZ adapter made the lens a bit ungainly for travel. But I was disappointed with the focusing of this new lens though the EVF. On the other hand, I learned by shooting at f/11 while paying attention to the distance setting on the external ring like early manual lenses, this lens works like a champ. Yes, it can deliver wide open but one has to be extra careful in focusing by whatever method you use. In any case, after getting the hand on how to focus, the results have surpassed my expectations. The clincher is the solidily constructed small size at a low price.

Great at what it does. For the price and quality, it's hard to beat. There are definitely flaws to the lens when compared to more expensive counterparts. But they would cost significantly more and not worth if you do not use them on a regular basis.

It looks and feels like a quality lens and works fine in some quick testing on a Z8. I'm not fussy about optical subtleties on a sort of novelty perspective lens like this. I'm assuming plenty of other reviewers have covered that in more detail. Even the cover has a quality look and feel to it, which is nice because I'll be using it since I can't mount a UV filter for general walk around protection.

After reading several online reviews of the 7artisans 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens, I recently purchased one for my Nikon Z 8. It does not disappoint. This lens is incredible and a great value! It is a manual focus lens, but if you are shooting anything farther away than a foot, just set the focus ring to infinity. The lens has almost no lens flare and you can get a beautiful starburst even shooting at f/8. The images I have produced so far are very sharp. It is also a great lens for night sky photography, giving you a very wide filled of view of the night sky. This lens stays in my camera bag!
