The RigWheels RigMount 100 High-Power Magnetic Mount with Short 3/8"-16 Mounting Screw is a magnetic camera car mount made of rare-earth materials to achieve a strong bond. This mount has a short, 3/8"-16 mounting screw on top for use with small cameras, small tripod heads, or support arms.

Each magnet has a special rubber coating to protect the surface you mount on and to prevent slippage, while preserving the pull strength of the magnet. The advantage of a magnetic mount over a suction mount is that it doesn't lose its holding strength over time. The magnets have up to a 100 lb pull resistance when joined together or placed on a steel surface.

The magnet is designed to hold a small-format camera such as a DSLRs or action camera, but you can also use multiple magnets together to support larger rigs. The magnets can also be joined through a glass window or windshield as an additional car mounting option.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. please add locking push button to knurled knob 1/4-20 (or is there one already?)

A: The Ulanzi Go-Quick II Magnetic Quick Release 1/4" Screw Adapter Mount Set does not have a locking button on the knurled knob, but the quick release system below the mounting platform (which contains the knurled knob), does release from the base via a push button.

Q: 2. Sorry, Will this mount hold Nikon D7200 camera?

A: The Oben Magnetic Mount with 1/4"-20 Mounting Screw will work for any camera with a 1/4"-20 mount and has a 44lbs pull resistance.

Q: 3. Can Hold a Ronin M with a universal mount from cinemilled and a a7s II with a nikon wide lens ?

A: As will all car-mounting, it depends on how you're going to use it. This product is better for hard-mounting. For what you've described the Cloud Mount DSLR is a better option.

Q: 4. What type of lock do you use to attach a fluid head on this? I'm assuming its too shallow to use the normal 10mm bowl lock that comes with normal fluid heads.

A: RigWheels RMH1 RigMount with Ball Head BH #RIRMH1 RigWheels Rig Mount Magnetic Mount Long (4-Pack) BH #RIRML4

Q: 5. How hard to detach is this? Could it damage the car?

A: not difficult to remove. You have to use a little muscle, but it's very secure. Be sure the vehicle you're using is steel. Honda Pilot has an aluminum hood so we switched vehicles. Different hoods vary in vibration. Worked great on a Versa without additional rigging. Suction cups are a nice option if you're not using a magnetic surface.

Q: 6. What are the actual dimensions and weight?

A: This weighs 3 ounces and is 2.5” tall.

Q: 7. Can I use it for My Blackmagic Cinema Camera?

A: Yes - it will fit a 1/4 -20standard female bushing. But the BMDCC is much larger and heavier than the GoPro camera this accessory was designed for.

Q: 8. Will these work with other car mounts, non RigWheels?

A: Yes. The RigWheels SK01 Car Mounting Strap and Safety Kit will also works for other car mounts that are not made by Rigwheels

Q: 9. How is the mount removed after the shot?

A: I am not a movie grip so I am just guessing here. I would think a 2 in. plastic joint knife would do the trick, one foot at a time.

Q: 10. Best ball head to use with this? We have a Canon C100 Mark II to mount to a hood of a vehicle.

A: Hi Rory, from my experience with using ballheads for this is that unless it is a very beefy one I would not recommend it. We have used it for our A7s with a 24-70mm sigma zoom though it is not as balanced as your C100 it is also much smaller and lighter weight. What we have found out is that every pot hole every bump will cause the camera to shake and bobble with the ball head. This is because of the way every ball head was designed. A larger mass up top with the camera a thinner connecting rod to the ball base and one knob to tighten the ball unit to where you want it.After a few test runs we ended up using a standard x/y style mount, it took longer to set up and we had to move it a little further back but it was more stable. With the ball mount it was shorter and we really wanted to use it however even adding a three point tension with some straps did not prevent it from wobbling and eventually loosening up the ball and our camera dropped from the framing making the footage unusable. We absolutely love the fast setup with the magnets there is some issues with some legs not being able to touch the car body perfectly but we tied the whole thing back and it survived 50 mph for over 6 minutes.
