Q: 4. Will it work with s a canon 5d mark III ?

Q: 5. There are two images of this lens. One is very short, like a pancake. The other is longer. Can you please explain the two different looks? I am looking at this for a Canon R5, if that matters.

A: Lensbaby desing this lens in 2 different size for different camera mounts. The correct image for the Canon RF mount is the third image in our website which is the largest version. The lens dimensions are 63mm x72mm (LxW), with a front diamter of 46mm to attach filters.

Q: 6. I'm thinking of purchasing 1 blue and 1 amber flare model. Other than the flare, will the overall color rendition by the same?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Remus 45mm T2.0 1.5x Anamorphic Lens will have slight color shift between the blue and amber flare due to the difference in lens coating to produce the distinct flare colors. Lens tests would be recommended to determine if the color differences are tolerable for your application.

Q: 7. How is this different from a Lensbaby Sweet 50mm lens?

A: The main difference is how they mount to the camera. The Sweet 50 requires a Composer Pro lens to attach to the camera while the Sol 45mm has a direct lens mount.

Q: 8. What is 35mm aperture equivalent?

A: If I understand your question you are not asking about the field of view, which is 35mm equivalent, but the aperture. If I am not incorrect, a f/3.5 is a f3.5, it requires the same amount of light as a 35mm lens, stopped down to 3.5. But the DOF is not the same. I never thought about it and couldn't find examples, so I played with a DOF simulator using the X1D vs 5DmkIII since I think it represents a standard full frame, and I found:This 45mm at f3.5 on a medium format camera gives the same DOF as a 35mm at 2.5 on a full frame camera (based on my research). So I guess it's not like a 1.2, but I have used it a lot and I can tell you, it's a stunning lens, you won't find people asking if you can get a shallower DOF, they will just remark on how amazing the photos look. The 90mm 3.2 is also an amazing lens.

Q: 9. Will this work and fit with the Blackmagic Full Frame Cinema 6k?

A: No, the EF mount of the BLAZAR LENS Remus 45mm T2.0 1.5x Anamorphic Lens (Canon EF, Blue Flare) will not connect to the L-Mount of the Black Magic Cinema 6k camera. . An adapter would be required. Viltrox Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Leica L-Mount Camera Pro Lens Adapter BH #VIEFLPRO • MFR #EF-L PRO

Q: 10. How much does the sol 45 weigh? ( fuji)

A: B&H ‘specs’ indicate 9.6 oz (272 gm). In your hand, it will feel even lighter!

I found this lens to be so fun to play with! It took a few minutes to get used to the focus, but nothing too difficult. This has dreamy bokeh and draws your eye to your subject very nicely! I’m glad I purchased this lens!

Very fun to use, sharp in the center and just a joy to use in my personal projects. I may use it on my paid projects as added value to the client.

I haven't been feeling very creative when it comes to my photography as of late. When I saw this lens become available I thought for the price, why not? I really enjoy this lens for flower photography and follow an amazing photographer Kathleen Clemons who uses Lensbaby including the new Sol 45 with incredible results. If using this lens for flowers, I would suggest either getting the Lensba y macro kit or extension tubes to get really close. Have fun with it!!!

I've enjoyed playing with this lens, and am thrilled with the pictures. There is a bit of a learning curve. I initially thought it would not work but I just had to change the settings to allow the camera to take a picture without a lens. I almost gave up before discovering that secret.

Lensbaby Sol 45mm is quality instrument. I've used it in several settings and it performs exactly as advertised. I really liked using manual focusing as well as the ability to change the focal point, to direct the eye to a particular place on the image. The lens also feels great in your hands.

I just bought my third Sol. I have them for different lens mounts since they are so reasonably priced. I have had many Lensbaby lenses over the past 15 or so years and this is my favorite. It is easy to use, is small and light and the blur effect you get is lovely. I don’t like using the little wing things and wish I could remove them. This is a great lens for someone who is Lensbaby curious.

The Lensbaby Sol was a birthday gift for my daughter, so the review is from her perspective. First of all, she appreciates the build quality and ease of use from using the lens straight or tilted along with the ease of using the bokeh blades. Secondly, she is appreciating the 45mm (68mm on a Canon EOS M5). The f/3.5 lens allows beautiful light on the images. Third, the bokeh blades are lots of fun to use at any angle or move for a classic photo. The Lensbaby Sol lens is a wonderful creative lens to add to your photography bag. :)

I bought this on a whim thinking it would enhance some nature photography shots of flowers. Being winter, I've been shooting other subjects and I'm loving how the lens can be used to direct the viewer's focus to a specific region of the photo. While I thought my use of this lens would be very limited, I'm finding that experimenting with a wide range of subjects is yielding very good and very interesting results. (though I keep hearing do you know your photos are blurry?). I'm still experimenting and can't wait till spring, but this lens is a very welcome addition.

I purchased the Sol 45 to force me out of my auto focus comfort zone and to have a little fun. It did both and did so better than expected! I mounted it to a Canon R5 and went to the County Fair with a willing subject to find some magic.

The focus ring has large movement for small chance so it allowed me to easily dial in to the exact spot I wanted.

The results were spectacular. The blur alone added a remarkable amount of depth and motion but with the blades pushed inward, the lines create a subtle framing of the focus spot that mimics long-exposure camera-shake while the center is tack sharp. The depth delivered in black and white was more than I expected as well. I'll be ordering the wider Sol soon.
