If you have 2-3 high-end power hungry video cards, are doing rendering or video processing, with a pile of hard drives, you could start getting up to the 900 watt limit. Buy a kill-a-watt and measure for sure. Also note that at 100% utilization on battery (drawing 900 watts) the run time is very short; maybe a minute or two. My workstation has an 850 watt power supply, a single GeForce 960 video card, i7-6700k, 16gb ram, 4 hdds and an ssd.
