A: Sure you can, as long as the wood cabinet is securely fastened to the wall. I actually bolt a piece of 1' thick plywood to the wall, and then I mount the racks to the plywood.

Q: 9. I would like to mount this rack onto a wall and have the cables come through the back (basically the rack mounted over the hole the cables will come through). Should I have any issue cutting a hole in the back of the rack to pass the cables through?

A: This unit is made of metal, so you would have to have the appropriate tool to cut a hole in the wall plate on the back to run cables through.
