As with so many of their lenses, you just cant go wrong
The 70-200 2.8 IMO gives you everything their counterparts give you at much better price

Great piece of equipment

Used on my D850. Color and sharpness far exceed any other lens I have used. It is a bit Heavy, but the construction is solid and it has lots
of glass.

I've actually owned this lens for over a year now. Originally, I bought it to shoot dog show photos on my Nikon D7100. Now I've gone to a Nikon D750 and it still is one of my go-to lenses. I have about 3 Sigma Art Lens, one Sigma Contemporary and this Sigma 70-200mm f2.8HSM Sport. It's incredibly sharp, quick to capture focus on moving Dalmatians, and I've discovered that it's a great portrait lens as well. I've ended selling all but a couple of my Nikon lenses because the Sigma lenses are sharper and and have less distortion. Yes, the 20-700mm Sport is a full pound heavier than the Nikon, but the firmware updates have the Sigma capturing movement focus very well and even at over 70 years of age, I'll carry the extra pound and keep the $1000 extra that Nikon wants for their 70-200mm.

Incredible lens, should be way more expensive! Probably my sharpest lens ( strait out of the box), way sharper than my Nikkor 200-500mm, and Nikkor 500mm PF. Fast and reliable focus, almost 0 sway while shooting at a distance in continuous High. Even while shooting at lower shutter speeds (1/160) it still can capture action, even on faster moving subjects. Only issue I have is that the lens cap has come off a few times during transit, so if you are going to purchase just know that this may be an issue.

If you’re someone venturing into photography like me and don’t want to necessarily break the bank Sigma’s holy trinity if lenses is the way to go.

There is a lot of HYPE as to who is the best: Nikon or Tamron or Sigma. All three are excellent. This lens went onto my D850 focused sharp and fast with no issues. I was especially how well it focused in low light situations. Oh by the way I got a great deal on this and a 24-70 2.8 at B&H. That made my final decision as to which of the three brands
I would buy.

This is a fantastic piece of glass that you will NOT regret having in your arsenal. It is very sharp and as long as your focus is right it catches every detail.
I have used it on my Pocket Cinema 4k and my a6300. Even going EF to E the autofocus worked great.

This is my first Sigma lens- yes, like other reviewers have said, this lens is definitely heavy. But it is sure worth it! The clarity is fantastic, the autofocus works extremely well and is accurate, and perhaps most importantly due to the weight of the lens- the image stabilization is absolutely great. I feel comfortable shooting down to 1/150 hand holding this lens if necessary (the tripod mount offers a great place for your non-main hand to help). I was also pleased with the quality of materials and build, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another sigma lens.
