The HD-46 Lens Hood from 7artisans Photoelectric increases contrast and clarity by blocking stray light from entering the lens, preventing flare and ghosting. The hood is specifically designed to not cause vignetting in the corners of the image on the 7artisans Photoelectric 25mm f/1.8 lens. With its 46mm threads, it screws into the front of the lens and has the added benefit of protecting the front element from impacts.

Build quality appears top notch. As many others have said I wish the aperture ring was clicked but that's not too big of a deal. What most impresses me about this lens is that the center of the frame is quite sharp wide open. Some reviews have complained that it's not sharp across the frame wide open but not only is this common even among lenses costing many time the price but more often than not I don't want the edges to be sharp when shooting wide open. Bokeh is the goal here. Overall quite happy with this lens. shooting it on a Nikon Z fc. EXIF data would be nice if it had electrical contacts. Maybe at some point 7Artisan will offer that feature. This lens is way better than some of the earlier Leica mount 7Artisans lenses I tried a few years ago.

These are true 0.95 Bigger lens filter size mean True f/0.95 Laowa Argus lens . I trust Laowa Argus lens so much — for Nikon z mount. Waiting two months later coming in Argus f/0.95 lens , [ Voglander f/0.95 lens only make for Olympus mount or Sony ] We’ll see how good new Laowa 45 mm and 35 mm . I’m Nikon and Fujifilm guy. Build quality is excellent and the mechanisms of this lens feel expertly crafted, so the product feels premium, using the lens in practice is just as great, its a manual focus lens so getting your subject tack sharp will take some personal skill/practice, glass is great and produces amazing imagines.

I'm using the E-mount version on a Sony A6000. I was interested in the manual aspects of this lens. It's fun because it forces you to think about your focus and depth of field. It is surprisingly well-made for the money and feels solid. I recommend getting a snap-in lens cap - the provided one is nice but won't stay on once you add a filter.
I looked at some reviews of more expensive options in the f0.95 category, but their quality seems quite comparable to this bargain. There is a bit of fringing, especially compared to a higher-end lens like the Sony/Zeiss 24mm f1.8, but I think this lens is a great value and useful for various creative shots.

If you read more detailed reviews on blogs it will mention the propensity of this lens to flare when pointed at a light source. This is true, but I was easily able to control flare with a good polarizer. At times it is fun to allow the flare to add to the composition of the shot.

The lens takes great shots in low light; making my MFT seem like a much bigger sensor.

My two complaints are that the lens cap slides over the end of the lens and while it is a heavy metal cap is useless with a lens hood. The second is a usability peeve. The hard stop of the focus ring doesn't focus at infinity. It would be nicer if I could rotate to the bump stop and before pulling the camera up to my face to compose a more distant shot.

I don't care if it is not critically sharp or have perfect color or whatever in the corners. This lens is incredibly versatile and sharp, and I have been shooting with it exclusively since I bought it. It seems to me to have great color rendition and wonderful bokeh.

I love this lens. It is a quality lens, built like a tank and optically fine. You can't expect too much from an f/0.95 lens. It's been on my Nikon Z fc a lot since getting it.

Excellent lens for low light situations in which you want to avoid the use of flash.

The lens is really well built. Holding in hand, it feels so solid. Focus ring and aperture ring are very smooth. When in focus, the picture is sharp enough, even at f/ 0.95. I am happy with it.
