The black Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone is designed to bring sonic performance distilled from the company's reputable studio condensers to the realm of home recording for podcasters, musicians, and content creators. The capsule features a low-mass, side-address diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern for rejecting ambience and noise behind the mic, a welcome trait when tracking in untreated rooms. It comes with a pivoting stand mount for straightforward attachment to your existing mic stand.

The AT2020's extended, linear frequency response enables the flexibility to accurately reproduce signals from a wide variety of sources such as vocals, speech, and instruments. High SPL handling and wide dynamic range allow the AT2020 to capture loud signals with minimal noise and distortion. Since the AT2020 is a solid-state condenser with an XLR output, it should be mated to an XLR-equipped mic preamp capable of sending 48V phantom power.

With its studio-quality articulation and intelligibility, the AT2020 is ideal for musicians, streamers, podcasters, and other content creators.

Q: 1. can anyone tell me how to attach the pop filter to this mic stand in a way that the whole thing doesn't tip over AND the filter is in the appropriate place in front of the mic? I can't seem to figure out it. Thanks.

A: Yes, it's a bit of a struggle with lightweight boom stands. What I did was attach the pop filter to the mic stand and then shorten the boom enough to be able to place the pop filter in front (All I needed was to have the mic off the table). If that's not possible, I suggest sandbagging the mic stand so that you can safely extend the boom with the pop filter attached to it.

Q: 2. Does this plug right into the computer for recording?

A: The AT2020 plugs into the Q802USB via XLR cables. You can then plug the Q802USB directly into your PC via USB for recording. Just make sure your computer's input is set for the Q802USB mixer.

Q: 3. Will this microphone plug directly in my Phone 8 and functions easily with the Apple app "Audio Memos" ?

A: This AT2020USBi mic does include a lightning cable in the box, and will work with iPhone X models. It should work for voice memos, as well as any other app that accepts audio input.

Q: 4. would this work usb to xbox?

A: This microphone would not be compatible with the XBox.

Q: 5. Will this microphone work with Adobe Premiere Elements 12 for Mac?

A: I don't own a Mac.

Q: 6. Will this phone

A: This microphone cannot make phone calls.

Q: 7. Is this an XLR mic? and is it a mic only? what else comes with it?

A: It is an XLR microphone: In the Box Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone Stand Mount for 5/8"- 27 Threaded Stands 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 Threaded Adapter Protective Pouch Limited 1-Year Warranty Not in the Box Essential XLR Cables (Not Included)

Q: 8. I need just the microphone boom for this kit. How can i purchase two seprately?

A: While we do not sell that specific broadcast arm separately, here is a similar alternative BH #ONMBS5000.

Q: 9. Does this record soundfiles in mp3? Wav? Or Aiiff?

A: The format the microphone records in depends on which recording/editing software you are using. Say for example, you are using Audacity. When you are finished recording, you can export in a number of formats including but not limited to .mp3 and .wav

Q: 10. this mic (AT2020) vs Samson C01, which one is better?

A: The Samson C01 is a good value microphone at a great price, but the AT2020 is a superior microphone; no coincidence it is a top seller here at B&H.

I received this from B&H in the mail yesterday, and might I say that it was a pleasure ordering from B&H as always. I had this mic out of the box, into my interface, and my wife recording a lovely tune in a minute or two. It's a really nice sounding mic (for vocals at least) right out of the box, and I'll be testing it on various instruments over the next week or so. I wouldn't hesitate buying this if you're looking for a good condenser mic that's easy on the wallet.

I will add that when using it without a pop filter I noticed that the P plosive did cause the signal to clip a couple times... but I'm sure most people buying this mic will be putting a pop filter in front of it.

I checked online reviews for this microphone before purchasing it, and I have to say I am quite pleased. So far this microphone is performing exactly as I expected based on the online reviews. I use it mainly for dictation, no recording, but when monitoring the input, I was amazed at the clarity. For me, it was a good buy.

I've been using a pair of these to live-stream a pipe organ. The results have been excellent for this use.

Used for drum overheads. Placed one to the left, the other right and got a good stereo effect. And they'll record a loud source without spiking. For my application, it was perfect.

if you want to pay little and have an excellent product that is the product.
Very good for female voices and voice with the highest pitch.

It can be used to pick up acoustic instruments (acoustic guitar, violins and pianos).

Microphone with optimal pickup, low noise.

Excellent microphone for beginners with recordings and also for audio professionals.

I recommend .

I own six of these microphones plus a number of AT shot guns. I have used Neumann 87s and 103s and although the frequency response is different, these microphones perform admirably.

For stage work (recording plays and musicals) nothing can pull sound off a stage like a Neumann. On the other hand, not having a 3k budget for hardware, forced me to look elsewhereand the 2020s were a good substitute. They are also a good choice for voice-over work.

The microphone has reasonably high output, that is clean and exhibits very low self-noise.

For my money, the AT2020 is a great value. I have never been disappointed by any Audio Technica product!

Not sure whether my kit was different, but the mics DID come with the stand adapters. Two things: they are in with the mics themselves, and you will need to remove the thread-adapters in them for these stands. Use a butter-knife to take the adapters out.
PERFECT little podcase recording set-up. Well Done, B&H!!
