Balancing value and strong audio performance, the Audio-Technica AT2035 condenser microphone offers a smooth and detailed sound at a price point that's accessible for home-based musicians, vocalists, and podcasters. The large-diaphragm condenser capsule incorporates a cardioid polar pattern for minimal feedback and off-axis noise, a welcome trait when tracking in untreated rooms. Plus, the supplied custom shockmount helps keep extraneous handling and foot noise down.

Engage the -10 dB pad to increase headroom and capture incredibly loud sources up to 158 dB SPL without distortion. When low-frequency rumble/hum or overwhelming bass invade your signal, turn on the 80 Hz high-pass filter switch to attenuate the lows without resorting to EQ. Since the AT2035 is a solid-state condenser with an XLR output, it should be mated to an XLR-equipped mic preamp capable of sending 48V phantom power, or anything between 11 to 52 VDC.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do you attach the mic mount to the mic stand? the "male" end on the stand is too big for the "female" end on the mic mount

A: Please make sure to remove the 5/8" to 3?8" adapter from your mic mount and it should then work just fine. The included adapter allows you to mount it on other stands such as light stands.

Q: 2. Before I place my order, can you tell me what additional accessories will I need to get started (aside from the computer)? Cables? Shock mount? Thanks!

A: The Audio-Technica Voice Actor Starter Kit ships with everything necessary to get started recording. The AT2035 mic ships with shockmount, and XLR cable for connection of mic to the interface is included as well.

Q: 3. Does this include the ATH-M20 Headphones?

A: No, the headline description of the kit is wrong, but the product list farther down is right. It ships with Polsen headphones. They're listed on the current set up as Polsen HPC-A30 Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones.

Q: 4. Is it side address or top?

A: Designed for critical home/project/professional studio applications and live performance, this side-address cardioid studio condenser delivers exceptional detail and low noise. Equipped with a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter and 10 dB pad, the AT2035 handles high sound pressure levels with ease. Along with its rugged construction and high-performance specifications, the AT2035 provides an exceptional level of consistency from model to model. Q: 5. Does this come with a USB cable so i can record to my computer?

A: The Tascam US-600 audio interface included in this kit will ship with a USB cable that will enable you to connect the unit to your computer.

Q: 6. How long is the cable on the boom arm?

A: The full length of the cable would be close to 10 feet.

Q: 7. Does this microphone need phantom power?

A: Yes, the microphones plug into the Mixer Board, which provides the power.

Q: 8. this mic (AT2020) vs Samson C01, which one is better?

A: The Samson C01 is a good value microphone at a great price, but the AT2020 is a superior microphone; no coincidence it is a top seller here at B&H.

Q: 9. Is it iMac compatible?

A: The Peavey PV6 USB mixer will be the device that has a physical connection to the computer via USB and is compatible with both Mac and PC. This will allow you to interface with most recording or streaming applications including Garage Band which is pre installed in the Mac OS.

Q: 10. If you send a third mic in through one of the stereo inputs, will the USB interface output three separate tracks of audio to your DAW? Or will the third mic get bussed in with one of the other two mic tracks?

A: This is a two channel stereo mixer and will mix the third mic into the two stereo tracks.

Microphone is fantastic for the money - sensitive, clear and pleasure to work with.

I purchased this for our high school band concerts to mic the ensemble. Paired it with 8 others and did a great job. Audience loved the performance.

It's basically an upgraded at2020, and very much worth the money for the mic. It sounds just as good if not better then more expensive options, within reasonable expectations. It's not going to compete with an vintage mic, nor is it going to compete with a much more expensive mic with a specific sound signature. But for a flat, basic microphone, it is one of the best within it's price range. It picks up vocals where it is supposed to and drastically reduces sound from things like speakers positioned behind it. It is probably the best microphone you can get for video calls, streaming, and other activities where sound cancelation is important. Paired with a basic XLR interface with phantom power and it is the most clear you can get for your coworkers or friends for a very reasonable price. As someone that does work remote and as someone that hangs out with friends having a good mic is very important. My at2020 usb started having issues so it was only a natural progression to get the next tier up and an inherently better usb interface for it. I love this mic and your coworkers will thank you, if they are anything like me.

Much better than most mid-priced and all lower-priced microphones. Quality and no issues.
