I bought a pair to use as backup for all my RAW photo files. I have them (12TB each) loaded with about 5TB of files and they seem to be holding up well after 2 months. I use one as a primary and do nightly backups to the other one. For this purpose the low transfer speed is not an issue. However it is a little frustrating after migrating from a to them from 4 drive RAID 0 system. I was getting sustained write transfers at 100-200MB/s from the XQD cards and with these drives the write rates are just barely over 20MB/s. I am using USB 3.0 but this is not the limiting factor because my SANDISK SSDs on the same hub routinely sustain 200MB/s. I like the fact that these drives spin down so I don't have to worry about keeping them powered up most of the time. I had a brief episode of a corrupted FAT (easily corrected). I don't think this was an issue with the drive but rather a result of another failing drive in my system that resulted in an interrupted file transfer/system hang. Once I got them set up and files transferred to them they have been very reliable. The vertical design is also very desk space friendly. 5

This is a speedy hard drive wtih a usb 3.1 interface and user friendly software. Backing up files and using as a network share is pretty simple out of the box 5

I’ve had the WD 8TB for about a month, and have backed up about 5tb. Good transfer spend, about 148 Mbs. Audible noise is a very low hum; I can hear it but it is not annoying - I can hardly hear it. Capacity is excellent and I like that it operates on its own power and not sucking off usb. 5

I've only had the drive for a couple of weeks, but it is working just as I expected. The 10 terabyte size gives me enough storage for all my docs and videos and audio files for at least a year or more. As usual, B&H got it too me quickly and in great condition. 5
