The black X-GO Carbon Fiber Tripod Kit with FPH-42Q Ball Head from Fotopro is a 5-section carbon fiber support that has a twist lock leg system that allows, along with the rapid center column, for a maximum height of 56.8". Splaying the legs completely out enables the tripod to go as low as 7.6", and the variable leg angles allow the tripod to conform to uneven terrain. The tripod's ball head has two separate knobs, one that controls the movement of the ball, which can be positioned at a 90° angle, and a second knob controls the 360° pan. A bubble level is included to help you maintain a level horizon, and one of the legs is removable, enabling it to convert into a monopod. This allows you to have a camera support when a tripod cannot enter certain areas. Additionally, the legs fold in the reverse making it compact for storage and transport.

A: The first image display 4 turn tension knob in each leg and the rubber feet which match accordantly with a 4 leg section tripod. The ball head included with Fotopro X-GO Gecko Tripod Kit is the FPH-42Q Ball Head (Green). If you enlarge each image the model number of the ball head is visible in each picture. The tripod under BH #FOXGOGECKOG is the Gecko collection, the Chameleon version with the FPH-52Q Ball Head is listed under BH #FOXGOCG.

This is, by far, my favorite tripod. I have been using FotoPro tripods for over three years now, and when I started using the X-Go series, I was blown away at how amazing it is. Super lightweight, yet incredibly durable. I have used them in all types of weather and climate, from storm chasing to the blazing desert to the frozen Arctic tundra, and I have never had a problem. Three years and 300,000+ miles across North America, and I very lucky to have had FotoPro tripods with me the whole time. Highly recommended! 5

I had seen the Fotopro Tripods at the PhotoPlus Convention here in NYC and was impressed with their quality. Purchased from B&H the following day. The fit and Finnish is first class. Leg Locks are quick and secure. Tripod folds to 18.5 inches and extends to 6 feet --note* the dimensions B&H List in their description are incorrect and not for the X-Go Max Model. Suggest you go to the Fotopro web site for correct dimensions. 5

This is a very high quality tripod. Worth every penny. I really love this Carbon fiber tripod and it come with a nice ball head. This tripod feels beefy but is also nice and light. 5

This is one truly great tripod. I have two other tripods. One is the Manfrotto 055MF4, which is also a carbon fiber tripod. It maybe sturdy but is still somewhat heavy. The tripod alone weights 5.3 lbs. Add a decent Ball Head it would be about 10 lbs. So for non-critical photo trips I would carry a MeFoto 5-section aluminum tripod. Compare to the Manfrotto tripod the MeFoto one is lighter and shorter when fully folded . However it's not as sturdy. When the camera is mounted, the tripod legs would squat outward. Also under windy condition it vibrates. So when I saw the ad for this tripod I was somewhat skeptical. After I read all the rave reviews I decided to take a plunge. Once I received this Fofopro tripod it was love at first sight. I am really surprised how intelligent the design of this tripod is: The way the retractable center column screw head for the hook would come out, The conversion to a monopod, the reverse folding legs, the spikes that hide under the rubber boots, etc. Also I can't believe how light this Fotopro tripod is. It's even lighter than the 5-section MeFoto travel tripod. I attached my camera (D850 with 24-70, F/2.8 lens) to it and it felt solidly sturdy. It has the feel of quality material and workmanship. It's not battle tested yet, but it seems to be a winner! 5

This tripod is really light making it super convenient to travel and hike with. It's been in the sand, water, mud, you name it and it's always managed just fine. 5
