Kessler Crane Killshock Isolator System
- Product Code: ga62586
-
No moving shot is too rough for the KillShock Isolator System from Kessler. The KillShock removes vibration from any shot, whether on a crane, jib, dolly, or vehicle, using a set of 8 included Medium Duty isolator modules, each containing 3 red shock cables.
You can also change the configuration of the isolators to use 6, 4, or 3 modules for fine tuning, or use a combination of separately available shock modules that come in Light Duty (blue cables) and Heavy Duty (black cables) to combine for just the right amount of shock isolation depending on the size and weight of your rig.
The Isolator System allows a wide array of mounting options thanks to its built-in Mitchell mount and top cheese plate design. Mounting patterns are preset for popular third-party mounts such as FREEFLY's Toad-in-the-Hole, MōVI's XL-to-Mitchell adapter, DJI's Ronin 2 Universal Mount, or Kessler's own HD Angle Plate. The bottom plate includes 1" extended slits for harnessing the Isolator System with straps or wires, or mount with Kessler's Mitchell Boss with Castle Nut adapter. To use in an inverted position with a jib or crane, a separately available KillShock Inversion Mounting Kit can be purchased.
Additional 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threaded holes are available on the top and bottom plates for attaching various additional mounting and support accessories. A Flat Cheese Plate adapter is also included.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. will the manfrotto 509HD be able to mount this crane? because I already own one and do not want to buy the Hercules as it is unnecessary. I really am seriously considering this crane though, so a answer would be awesome. Thanks!
A: The Manfrotto 509HD is a really nice video head, however its load capacity is only 29 pounds. This crane weighs 30 pounds before you even put a camera on it. Also the load capacity of a tripod head diminishes the further away the load gets from the center. Which is why we recommend the Hercules 2.0 Head when using this crane. It has the load capacity to handle the crane and most cameras you would put on it.
Q: 2. Can 2 Kwik Rails be combined, safely, to lengthen the Kwik Rail Legs? Would any additional bracing be required to minimize Leg flex?
A: Such a combination has not been tested by Kessler or B&H and thus this is not warranty supported and as such not recommended.
Q: 3. can I mount the Manfrotto 509HD on here and still be able to mount the Kessler Crane KC-12 on top of the manfrotto head?
A: You should be able to mount any bowl head to the kpod with the right accessories. I don't have the kc-12, but I assume as long as the kc-12 has 1/4 or 3/8 mounting holes it should work with your manfrotto. That being said, I don't think you'll be satisfied with the setup as your manfrotto head won't be able to take on that much load. Crane + Camera + Counterweights would certainly go over the 29lb capacity of that head.
Q: 4. Does it have an electric or a manual pump?
A: The Kessler Crane Lamprey Adapter (8") will use a manual pump. Kessler has discontinued their AutoVac product line that provided electrical pump options.
Q: 5. What makes this head different from other $500 heads? Why would you buy it over a comparable manfrotto head? Are there special features I'm not seeing or aware of?
A: The one thing that is unique about this head, assuming you can find legs that will also have the same or higher weight capacity, is the payload rating of 150lb., which is unheard of on other heads in the same price range.
Q: 6. How do I mount the Kessler crane on this tripod?
A: The best bet is to get the Hercules Head and a Kessler quick release plate for it.
Q: 7. Can you use a low-profile tiedown for the bottom instead of this handle? I'd like to take the one from the benro hi-hat and use it for situations where the head is very low to the ground.
A: Yes you can, just as long as the low profile tie down has a 3/8"-16 connection.
Q: 8. Can I center mount this cineslider to a regular 1/4' or 3/8' screw from a quick release plate?
A: You could, but it also depends on how strong the tripod and head that you're mounting it to.
Q: 9. How do we attach the Ronin2 mount on this thing?
A: A Ronin 2 can not be mounted directly to the Kessler Crane KillShock Isolator System unless it is mounted upside down so that the Ronin 2 can hand down from the mounting plate. If you were to mount the Ronin 2 in this way you can use the CineMilled R2 Main Mount for DJI Ronin 2 (BH #CICM021) to attach the Ronin 2 to the Kessler Crane KillShock Isolator System.
Q: 10. Can you please tell me, is it possible to clamp a Super Clamp to the tripod legs? (For example: The Manfrotto 035RL which has a jaw opening of 2.1"). In advance, thank you for your help with this.
A: Yes that is possible. We even recommend this Impact Super Clamp with Ratchet Handle, B&H # IMCC106R, which also has a 2.1" opening. https://bhpho.to/2cFjAwj
