A: You would have no issue using this with Sony speedlight

Q: 2. The description says it attaches with "touch fasteners". Does this grid have velcro to attach to the inside of soft box, or does it slip over the front of the soft box like cap?

A: The velcro attaches the grid on the inside portion of the box.

Q: 3. How do you close the Angler BoomBox ?

Q: 4. Just received this Angler BoomBox. So far I enjoy it. I cannot for the life of figure out how to close the umbrella ?

A: Unfortunately not. The item is packaged in standard see-through plastic packaging.

Q: 6. Does anyone know if this grid will fit on the Westcott? The Westcott doesn't have velcro on the interior and relies on diffuser fabric to fit like a cap on the exterior of the Octa.

A: No it will not fit

Q: 7. will this grid fit the Westcott Rapid Box Switch Octa-M Softbox 36" MFR #2522 • BH #WE2522?

A: Grids are manufacture specific. The different brands do not all make or measure there boxes in the same way.

Q: 8. With a speedlight, does the deflector plate just reflect a significant amount of the light back out the back? A studio light would project into the box and send light sideways, but I've always been concerned that with a speedlight this kind of modifier would deflect too much light out the back.

A: The minute amount of light loss won't affect the added feature of the internal deflector which disperses the light toward the outer part of the softbox, defeating hot spots and enabling even output from edge to edge, with a quality of light reminiscent of a beauty dish.

Q: 9. is this large enough to shoot a group of people with ? (10 to 15)

A: No this is not large enough for a group of people

Q: 10. Can you buy just the mounting piece?

A: Unfortunately, the speed ring mount is not sold separately.

Really great to control the light when you want to focus it directly to the model. So far so good. I'll see when the velcro will last 5

My first thought was that the Velcro on the Grid to attach it to the Softbox seemed a little cheap and flimsy, but it works well and provides a good perimeter seal. It is easily expanded to install and packs back into into a small package without much effort. Provides a slight increase in contrast to head shots and helps limit the edge bleed when working near the background or objects you would rather not illuminate,. 5
