The VOX MVX150H is a 150W amplifier head for electric guitarists. In both the preamp and power-amp stages, the MVX150H makes use of Nutubes, which condense the basic structure of a vacuum tube down into the size of a chip. This ensures a creamy, tube-like tone, while promoting a ruggedness most tubes cannot deliver by virtue of their construction.

The amplifier offers two channels, but each channel has two different voicings, making the MVX150H a versatile unit indeed. Channel one provides Clean and Crunch modes, while channel two supplies Rhythm and Lead operations.

Each channel gives you Gain and Volume controls. Both have tonal shaping capabilities: a Tone knob on channel one, and a complete tone stack on channel two. Both channels supply Bright and Fat switches. A Mid-Shift switch on channel 2 gives you further control over the midrange.

The digital Reverb, Presence, and Resonance controls are shared between both channels. Two master volume knobs are on hand, but these are only selectable via a separately-available footswitch. With the footswitch, you can use the second master knob to push your sound into greater power-amp saturation.

A bevy of features and connections are located on the rear of the amplifier, including an effects loop (switchable between series and parallel operation), an emulated line output (with a sensitivity switch), and a power level selector (for reducing your wattage). You'll note the ability to bias the preamp and power-amp separately right on the rear of the amp head.

With a dedicated wet output, you can route effected signal straight to the house, while the dry, unprocessed signal will go to the emulated output. This gives the FOH engineer more options in mixing your sound, as the engineer can put the dry and effected outputs on different channels.

Two 1/4" speaker outputs let you connect the amp head to cabinets, and with the impedance selector, you can choose among 4-, 8-, and 16-Ohm operation. Two footswitch inputs are on hand for external control. A power cable is included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used with the dp1000 III

A: Yes. The following modeling light will work with the dp1000 III unit.

Q: 2. How often do you have to replace these modeling light bulbs?

A: The following tubes should be replaced every 12-18 months.

Q: 3. how many lumens does it produce?

A: The Godox Modeling Lamp for SK400 II Flash Head has a close equivalent to 1250 lumens.

Q: 4. Could you use a standard LED bulb on the dp400iii at a more desirable color temp (5600K)?

A: You could use an led in theory but only if you found one one in this shape with the same bulb type that would fit. Generally they are wider and would interfere with the flash tube. The bulb needs to be e26/e27 and of this narrow shape and be 150W or less. We do not sell an led in this size and shape.

Q: 5. I've purchased the Godox DP 800III, 600III and 400III. They each have a modeling bulb is labeled JDD E26 110130v 150w. This is the same label on the replacement SK400II. Do all these strobes use the same modeling bulb?

A: Yes, the Godox DP 800III, 600III and 400II use the same modeling lamp.

Q: 6. Does this lamp cast a yellow color onto your model? Is there an LED modeling lamp alternative with a higher CRI that would fit into a Godox DP 400 III?

A: This Godox modeling lamp tungsten-balanced, so using it as a main source would create a warmer color temperature in your image if the white balance in the camera is not set properly. Unfortunately, there is no LED equivalent that can be used with the SK400 II that would not interfere with the flash tube.

Q: 7. Can I use speakers rated for 6 ohms with these speakers with power rms power of 35 watts? I will be using four speakers with two per channel in parallel.

A: You can use speakers rated at 6 ohms, two in parallel on each channel, however the amp will not offer the same specs as they are all referencing a 4 ohm load on each channel.

Q: 8. I'd like to bridge this to mono 150w output, is that advisable? What's the proper wiring?

A: Yes you can bridge, so long as you are using a compatible speaker that will not demand any further power from the PCA30.

Q: 9. how long is the warranty?

A: The PCA-3 carries a manufacturers 1-Year Limited Warranty from Pyle.

Q: 10. What modeling lamp replacement is compatible with Godox ms300?

A: Yes, the Godox Modeling Lamp for SK400II Flash Head (150W) is compatible in the Godox MS300.
