The I-T12000HD from Crown Audio is a high-performance power amplifier designed for professional applications. The amplifier has a sleek rackmount enclosure packed with innovative technologies that provide world-class performance and ease-of-use. Patented Class-I circuitry provides efficient use of power to keep current draw low while still providing powerful audio output.

Onboard OmniDrive HD DSP processing is built-in and uses 24-bit/192kHz Cirrus Logic A/D and D/A converters, along with FIR and IIR filters for a high level of audio performance. A front-panel USB port allows you to easily transfer DSP settings from a computer to the amplifier. For connection to virtually any sound system, the amp sports analog and digital XLR inputs and outputs, as well as Speakon and Binding Post outputs. An Ethernet port supports TCP/IQ, HiQnet, and CobraNet, and is compatible with standard 100Mb Ethernet hardware.

The amplifier is kept cool by variable-speed fans with a front-to-back airflow to keep system components running reliably. Other useful features of the amplifier include Sweep Load Monitoring with system-level diagnostics, a bright LCD screen for easy navigation, and a true global power supply, allowing you to operate at full power no matter where you go.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE OF THE CROWN XLI 2500 POWER AMPLIFIERS? THOMAS BROWN

A: The Crown Audio XLi 2500 Stereo Power Amplifier and the other Crown amps that we sell operate at 120 VAC, 60 Hz.

Q: 2. can I use a 2002 and 2502 both bridged without significant problems?

A: The amps can each operate safely in bridged mode as long as you are connecting them to speakers that are compatible with the power and impedance ratings.

Q: 3. Is that 775watts at hz or khz?

A: Neither. The power rating for an amplifier is not related to the frequency response. The 775 Watt power rating for the Crown XLS 2502 Stereo Power Amplifier is for each channel when the amp is operating at 4 Ohms. This means the amp will deliver 775 Watts to each channel to drive a 4 Ohm speaker. The maximum power the amp can output will vary depending on the impedance of the speakers that are connected. With an 8 Ohm speaker the amp delivers 440 Watts per channel and with a 2 Ohm speaker the amp delivers 1200 Watts per channel. When speakers with lower impedance ratings are use the amp will deliver higher amounts of power.

Q: 4. Can I stack one on top of the other without heating problems?

A: It is recommended to leave at least 1u of space between amps to reduce potential overheating issues

Q: 5. If there is a power outage do you have to press that switch to power the amp back on or does it stay depressed?

A: I am sorry but there are no details posted in the product information or specifications regarding whether the power switch would need to be pressed again after a power outage. The Crown Audio XLi 1500 Stereo Power Amplifier does have a circuit breaker with a reset switch on the back panel to protect the amp from a surge. The circuit breaker may activate if there is a power outage and then you would press the reset button and most likely would have to press the power switch again to turn the amp on.

Q: 6. Can this handle a 2 Ohm load?

A: No it is not designed to handle anything below 4 Ohms.

Q: 7. Is the XLi 2500 a push/pull amplifier?

A: Yes. The Crown Audio XLi 2500 Stereo Power Amplifier uses Class AB circuitry, which has a push-pull output stage.

Q: 8. How does this compare to the xli800?

A: This XLS 1002 provides built in DSP, specifically a band pass filter per channel, an integrated crossover system, and limiters. As well, this amp also provides through connections for linking multiple amps together.

Q: 9. Does it have a fan? How noisy is it?

A: Yes, there are internal cooling fans included with the XLi 1500 that help to prevent the amp from overheating. The fans are fairly quiet, not noisy.

Q: 10. How much rack space does this amp take up?

A: Actually it is a 2RU form factor. About 4 inches is correct. Each RU is about 1 7/8 inches.

Amp arrived on time and in good condition. Everything worked correctly out of the box. No issues. Working well after 10-15 hrs of simultaneous use of both channels.

This has minimal bells & whistles - PERFECT for our needs and directly proportional to the cost. We use it in a PA system for our weekly rehearsals.

I have two sets of speakers, one indoor and one outdoor that needed separate volume control but with audio coming from the same source. Worked perfect.

Using this to power two separate mono signals (one not yet connected), for primary sound in the church sanctuary and secondary sound in classrooms and nursery. Plenty of power for the speaker (TOA 38-SD 8Ohm) makes the whole space sound great! Some specific features which are appreciated: separate gains for each channel allow full power of two outputs with disparate needs. Simple intuitive light indicators and power button. Automatic muting during warmup avoids the accidental pop when turning on the Amp, particularly useful for turning off the amp between uses and avoiding 24/7 power drain when not necessary.

This is a really solid amp. The fan is quiet, and the amp is electrically quiet. Easy to use, takes standard XLR in and has both binding post and the speakeron connectors.

I purchased this to replace the power amp part of an old Yamaha stereo receiver. I wasn't able to find anything of decent quality as a consumer amp, and the high end hifi amps seem to be both overpriced and of questionable quality. So I went pro audio, as friends of mine had done years ago. This is definitely the way to go.

For road use with a band, I think I'd look at the new Crown class D's. I have one, I love it, and it's significantly lighter than this, and with a few more features. They sound absolutely identical. Both have much more headroom into actual speakers than the old receiver did.

Can't recommend this highly enough.

If your looking for a high powered amp that is very well made and sounds great consider the XLI-3500. It has the power to be used as a main amp in any smaller venue.
