Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I got 18-135 Is usm (old one) so will it work with Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R?

A: The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens is compatible with the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R.

Q: 2. Is this what I need for Mark IV lenses to work on the RF 6?

A: Yes. This Canon EF-EOS RF adapter will allow you to mount your Canon DSLR lenses onto your Canon EOS R6 mirrorless camera body.

Q: 3. Is it compatible with the original Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM lens or only the new Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM?

A: It is compatible with both.

Q: 4. Is there a reverse so I can mount an ef-r lens to a ef camera?

A: Currently there is no RF to EF mount adapter.

Q: 5. Im confused by the pricing. Is it correct? All of the adapters appear to have the same base features yet the ones with extra features (eg w/ filters or w/ control ring) cost less than the one without. The basic adapter is $399 while the one with an included polarizer is $99. Thats a lot to pay for less than 1oz less weight. There must be some other difference not described. Can you clarify? Thanks

A: It appears this pricing is incorrect. From numerous sources I've seen, this adapter should be priced at $99.99, with the control ring version priced at $199.99. The two with drop-in filters should be priced at $299 and $399 respectively, with the more expensive version having a variable ND filter vs a circular polarizer.

Q: 6. Can the adapter remain on the body while changing lenses? Or is it recommended to remove the adapter/lens as a unit, remove the lens, attach another lens and then attach the adapter/lens unit to the body?

A: You can definitely leave the adapter on the camera if you want to.

Q: 7. Will this work with r7

A: Yes, the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R can be used to attach an EF/EF-S-mount lens on the Canon EOS R7 Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 8. Will this work with the R3?

A: Yes this adapter is compatible with the Canon R3.

Q: 9. Will the EF-EOS R mount adapters work with Canon 1.4x or 2x extenders, assuming the EF lens is compatible with the extender? (Seems like it would, but I can't find an official answer or someone who's tried it.)

A: Yes it will work

Q: 10. How well will this work with the R6 body and the Sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens?

A: Yes, the sigma 150-600mm will work with the Canon mount adapter EF-EOS R.

I didn’t know that my beloved 24-105mm f4 could become even better. Now I have a full-frame f2.8 lens. I love the extra stops of light and the responsive autofocus with L-series lenses. I’m happy that it came with the C70 kit.

Slows down auto focus a bit on my Sigma ART's it seems, as opposed to without the speedbooster. But optically, it looks great!

This adapter is a magic item to change C70 to full size shooter. I'm very comfortable to use EF lenses as original angle of view with brighter aperture.

Just what I needed for the C70. Love that I now have the full frame look with my full frame EF L lenses on the C70. And so far I've had no issues with communication. I've used EF L lenses: 100-400, 24-70, 16-35, 24 1.4, 50, 135 2, 85 1.4, and 35mm f/2 (non-Ll) for gimbal use. Plus I get another stop with all the lenses. Here's a frame grab with the 100-400 at 400.

No aberrations on the lens.

f1.2L with this speedbooster is f0.85. all I want to say is this.

This works exactly as you'd expect. Slap on a full frame lens and it just works. Screws are attached so you can't lose them. Takes maybe 5 mins to remove the screw mounts on set. I keep this and the basic EF to EOS-R adapter in my kit. The director can then choose cropped or not.

I was initially worried about degradation of image quality but if there is any, it's negligible.

I absolutely love the full frame look, the extra stop of light and being able to use my EF lenses without the crop factor. I was initially using the sigma 18-35, which is a great lens for s35, but Canon L series glass is much better in my opinion. Now, I can utilize that 24-70 range which is pretty much all I need fo 85% of my work.

The AF works very well, I can't notice a difference using the regular rf to ef adapter vs the .71x adapter. It's a very sturdy mount.

One thing to take into consideration, if you're going to clean the sensor, you will have to take off the adapter completely, which means taking off the 4 mounting screws. That is the only downside I can find after a month of use.
