A: I have the same set up and this cable works nicely. Both the MBP and the Dell wake up fine from sleep mode. The only time it acts funny is if I plug in the cable with the MBP's lid down and then open it and try to wake it. To correct that I unplug it, wake the MBP, and plug it back in. I've had no need to reboot the Dell with this cable.
