Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. So would I be able to use this to limit the volume on my home receiver, so that once the speakers reach a certain volume they won't get any louder past the set point?

A: I use it for headphones in a live band setup but it will work for a home stereo. If you want to limit an single source say a TV just connect inline. To limit multiple sources use a preamp in/out or tape in/out.

Q: 2. This item appears when you choose "speaker switch" in the B&H search box. It appears to be a source switch. Can it be used as a speaker switch?

A: This item is actually a source selector for a singular pair of speakers or a single output. If you were looking to switch between speakers you may be interested in a monitor selector like this one BH #PRMSV2.

Q: 3. hello - presumably this is compatible anywhere in the world?

A: I don't see why not, there are no active components inside.

Q: 4. How much audio power is delivered to earphone jack? Is this paralleled with the RCA jacks?

A: This is a passive box adding no amplification to the signal. The outpit to both the RCA and 3.5mm will be at line level.

Q: 5. does this come with a power supply?

A: The unit comes with a separate plug-in power supply.

Q: 6. Is this safe to connect to from multiple pre-amped sources? Or will the circuit between preamps close when it switches and fry one of them?

A: This is safe to use when you need to connect and switch from multiple line level audio sources to one audio line level input on a playback device only. Please note this is not intended for use with any audio sources carrying power intended for speakers.

Q: 7. There are two versions of the DB24: a) Ground/Lift on each channel; b) Ground/Lift and Mono/Stereo. Which is this? Thanks.

A: THis does include the ground lift switches

Q: 8. Can this be used in car audio for multiple subwoofer amps .all aready the same wattage

A: This is not the right device for what your likely trying to accomplish. In car audio your generally trying to split or repeat the same signal. This is designed to take signals from multiple sources and send to a single output. Although not recommended, you could achieve the same results using an RCA Y-adapter.If your that serious about car audio you should be using a electronic crossover with multiple outputs or high-end deck that supports multiple RCA pairs.

Q: 9. Does this unit have to be connected to an active or passive monitor?

A: These are designed for use with passive monitors.

Q: 10. Does it come with Toslink to Toslink Optical Audio Cable?

A: According to the manufacturer's item details there is a 3-foot optical cable included.
