Styled in silver, the SPL m1000 is an analog, mono-block power amplifier. It utilizes a toroidal transformer to foster faithful reproduction at all levels. A custom-made Mundorf coil prevents any oscillation at the power stage, ensuring a wide variety of speakers can be operated.

Power 1000W into 2 Ohms, 750W into 4 Ohms, or 420W into 8-Ohm speakers. You'll find a stepped trim control, as well as protection against DC at the output. An optically controlled limiter kicks in if the level is driven too hot. The limiter's design promotes minimal impact on the sonic signal, since the limiter is controlled in the photo-optical realm, and not the sonic domain.

Neutrik XLR connections are on hand for line inputs and outputs. The input is passively routed to the XLR output in case you want to feed a second power amplifier, so the m1000 can work in bi-wired setups. The speaker connectors themselves are gold-plated binding posts that can accommodate wires up to 4mm, as well as banana plugs.

The Performer m1000 amplifier is compact and powerful. Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, this power amplifier can control speakers up to their load limits.

Designed as a mono block amplifier, this bipolar transistor power amplifier delivers up to 1000W into 2 Ohms, 750W into 4 Ohms, and 420W into 8 Ohms.

The Performer m1000 is equipped with a 1375 VA toroidal transformer, selected after listening tests. The power supply is equipped with a capacitance of 100,000µF for screening and electricity storage, as well as a faithful reproduction of impulse peaks. The toroidal transformer is mounted on a separate mounting plate that sits on 8 rubber dampers to extenuate any mechanical hum noise.

The Performer m1000 has a protection circuit against DC (direct current) voltage at the output and a limiter against overloading the output. If DC is detected at the output, the amplifier automatically switches off. To protect the output from overload, a limiter will be deployed in case the input level is so hot that the output stage will overload. The limiter operates with a light-dependent resistor. This means that the regulating process is in the photo-optical domain and does not affect the audio signal.

The Performer m1000 is equipped with a custom 3,8µH coil, one made by German high-end specialist Mundorf. This coil prevents the possibility of oscillation of the power stage. With the Mundorf coil in place, a huge variety of speakers can be operated seamlessly.

Heat dissipation is done with a microprocessor-controlled fan cooling that only gets activated when the internal temperature exceeds certain limits. At about 112°F at the heat sink, the amplifier will engage the processor-controlled fan cooling.

The Performer m1000 is equipped with Neutrik XLR input and output connectors for balanced operation. The input signal is passively routed to the output connector to feed any optional, second power amplifier for bi-wiring. The input can be lowered via a Trim rotary switch from 0 dB to -5.5 dB in 0.5 dB steps. This is useful in order to achieve an optimal stereo sweet-spot in acoustically suboptimal rooms. In bi-wiring lineups, or in the studio with multiple speaker sets, the trim allows up to level speakers with different efficiency to equal loudness.

The speaker connectors are gold-plated binding posts. The terminals can accommodate both banana plugs as well as a wire of up to 4mm diameter.

The Performer m1000 has a 3.5mm mono jack designated to be the amplifier control. With the appropriate cable, the Performer can be connected to a preamplifier, so that when you turn the preamplifier on, the amplifier is automatically switched on, too.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is THD rating(s) for this amp?

A: Unfortunately this manufacturer has chosen not to publish this and other specifications.

Q: 2. usually, you can bridge any amp to use in a mono setting. Can you run this mono?

A: This amp is designed to be used as a stereo amp. It doesn't have any options for bridging.

Q: 3. What type of speaker can be used with this inside a house

A: Just about anything from ceiling mounted mutli zone systems to drive high power requirement loads such as large subwoofers or transducer arrays in home theater applications.

Q: 4. When used in the bridged mode for mono, will the headphone output be mono as well?

A: When cue monitoring with headphones on the Samson Servo 120a, you will receive a stereo signal in the headphones.

Q: 5. how many watts per channel?

A: Output Power 8 x 1000W (PEAK@4 ohms)

Q: 6. I want to connect four 6 ohm speakers to the yamaha a s501 amp and use at the same time.Do I set impedence switch on back of amp to high or low ?

A: Set to low.

Q: 7. Does this printer support email to print via Epson Connect?

A: Yes, Epson Email Print is supported by the Epson WorkForce ST-M1000 Monochrome Supertank Printer.

Q: 8. i want to run 2 pair of bose 701's and need 2 sub outputs. is this the rec to buy??

A: No, you will be able to drive just one pair of the 701s with this amp, and there are no sub outs.

Q: 9. Can the AUDIO IN 1 screw terminal input be used as a mic-level input? Or is that line level only?

A: Here is the info that Atlona provides about the port - AUDIO IN 1 Connect the included captive screw connector, from a balanced / unbalanced analog line output, to this port. Input impedance is 20 kΩ. P10- https://bit.ly/32Qvq6m

Q: 10. Can I hook an equalizer to this Marantz stereo power amplifier?

A: Unfortunately newer Amplifiers (and Receiver Amplifiers) no longer offer the ability to connect a separate Equalizer like the older models. The current models no longer provide Input / Output ports for Equalizers.
