Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how many volts?

A: This is a cable it does not have voltage. That would be determined by the battery it is connected to.

Q: 2. How long is it stretched and unstretched?

A: At this time, that spec is not specified by the manufacturer.

Q: 3. From an Amira to MSU-1, does this cable provide power?

A: For questions regarding Arri cameras please reach out to our Studio Sales team at TheStudio@BHPhoto.com

Q: 4. Would this work connecting a Zephyr Steadicam to power a Sony FX9?

A: The Transvideo 3-Pin LEMO to Pag Jack 12V Power Cable for Steadicam Clipper II would not work as a means to power the Sony FX9 from the Zephyr Steadicam, as the voltage is too low and the connector is not the correct type.

Q: 5. Will this cable work with the Sony FS5 or FS7? Power and start/stop still fully functional?

A: I'm afraid not. This cable is designed for cameras like the Sony F5 which has a 4 Pin Hirose connection on the camera itself. The FS5 and FS7 do not have such connections. To connect B4 lenses to the FS5 and FS7 first you will need a B4 2/3 to E-Mount adapter. To power the lenses a better suggestion would be a D-Tap to 12-Pin Hirose Cable. You'd just need a battery source with a D-Tap connection. SWIT makes S-8U93 BP-U battery, which is compatible with both the FS5 and FS7 and it offers a D-Tap power connection.

Q: 6. Will this work with an URSA Mini Pro?

A: Though this would connect to the camera, there is risk that an improper voltage may damage the camera, and we would not recommend this cable for powering the URSA Mini Pro. Tilta also states: "Before using confirm that your camera or device can handle the unregulated voltage from your power source." A response from Blackmagic Design recommended AVOIDING unregulated voltage sources: "...Unfortunately, we do not test with or recommend using a D-Tap to XLR cable to power the URSA Mini. If the power source is regulated, it might work, but I can not guarantee that it will. Also, if the external power source is unregulated, there is a chance that it could damage the camera..."

Q: 7. Would this adapter work for powering the new BlackMagic 4k Video Assist monitor?

A: The Blackmagic Video Assist 4K uses a 2.5mm barrel. This cable lists it offers a 2.5mm on one end which should connect to the Video Assist 4k.

Q: 8. How long is this cable?

A: It's 3 feet long.

Q: 9. Is there cheaper options?

A: Unfortunately, the Litepanels Anton Bauer D-Tap to 3-Pin XLR Cable is our least expensive option in this type of cable.

Q: 10. Would this work on vmounts also?

A: Yes If the V-Lock battery has a PowerTap female plug on it.
