A: The Ranger series remain current products in the Elinchrom line; there are no plans from the factory to discontinue the series.

If you have an Evoke then you definitely need these. They're very cheap for the expanded functionality they bring to the Evoke, they give you more output, and they're much lighter than the huge frensel. The only drawback I could see would be the size of the 26 degree. But, given the huge amount of output it gives you, it's not really a big deal in my mind. They're easy to store as they come stacked together in a fairly thick draw string bag, so the 60 degree packs away in its own bag and lives underneath the 26 degree. The whole kit lives on my truck and takes up less space than a 1200 HMI, but delivers the firepower of an M18. I do wish there was an even tighter reflector, like a 12 degree. Would it get used very often? Probably not, but it'd be nice to have. All in all, these are absolutely worth getting if you own an evoke. 5
