Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I record the external mic (lavalier) and the built-in mic at the same time and store into two tracks?

A: No. Plugging a microphone into the input will disable the onboard mics. It is only a two track recorder.

Q: 2. Do these clips fit a Sony ECM-SC10 lavalier microphone?

A: Unfortunately they will not. Those are made for the UWP-V1, UWP-V6, UWP-X7, UTX-B2V, UTX-B2X, ECM-V1BMP or ECM-X7BMP Sony lavs.

Q: 3. Does this item protect equipment at all from sweat/water? Does it have any sweat/water resistance features?

A: They don't mention any kind of moisture resistance, and the fact that they say it is 'breathable' material makes me think that it probably will not provide much protection. We do offer waist belts by a company called Viviana which are resistant: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1448156-REG/viviana_vswlbkex_transmitter_strap_extreme_waist.html

Q: 4. Is the 1/8 in output for monitoring with headphones?

A: Hello. Thank you for your inquiry in regards to the SMX-15 Powered Shotgun Video Microphone. The SMX-15 does not have a headphone monitor output. The only ways to monitor audio with the SMX-15 are either if you have the microphone plugged into an audio adapter, or your camera provides a headphone monitor output jack. The 1/8 (3.5mm) output is for plugging into your cameras MIC input.

Q: 5. can I monitor what the mic is picking up through headphones?

A: Yes, headphones can be used to monitor the audio that the mic is picking up. Since the mic does not have its own built-in headphone jack, you will need to connect headphones to the headphone jack on your camera or recorder (or any other device you connect the mic to) in order to monitor the audio.

Q: 6. Will Sennheiser EW Series transmitters fit?

A: Sennheiser EW 112 transmitter dimensions: 2.5 x 3.2 x 0.9" Note: Transmitter pouch is 3.9" tall and 3.1" wide Pouch stretches to accommodate small and large transmitters So this will fit, but a bit snugly.

Q: 7. Is this washable?

A: The Remote Audio URSA Medium Waist Strap with Big Pouch (Beige) is safe to wash.

Q: 8. Will the Rode link lav wireless transmitter fit in this pouch?

A: The pouch is to small.

Q: 9. Can you use these as windscreens?

A: bought

Q: 10. How does this compare to the Zoom H1n? There are no reviews here nor in YouTube.

A: There are some advantages to the Zoom H1n and some for the Saramonic SR-Q2M. The Zoom is a bit smaller and lighter, but the Saramonic has metal construction, so it's a bit more substantial and rugged. So it depends on what you're looking for, lighter and smaller versus stronger and more rugged. The Zoom features a more detailed screen and editing features, while the Saramonic includes a remote, lavalier, case, furry windscreen and MicroSD Again it depends on what you're looking for, will the more detailed screen and editing features matter more than a more complete suite of accessories. If those accessories are something you want and need, the Saramonic is clearly a better value because those items add up when purchased separately.
