Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this adapter work for powering the new BlackMagic 4k Video Assist monitor?

A: The Blackmagic Video Assist 4K uses a 2.5mm barrel. This cable lists it offers a 2.5mm on one end which should connect to the Video Assist 4k.

Q: 2. 5 foot long?

A: Yes. This cable is 5' / 1.5 m.

Q: 3. Would this work with my mm-bsm-8 binaural headphones and MixPre-3 II to enable use of the kashmir XLR preamps instead of the aux-in one?

A: No, the ALZO adapter will not work because the MM-BSM-8 binaural headphones require 1.5 to 10 VDC plug-in power and the XLR inputs on the MixPre-3 II can supply 48V phantom power which is way more than needed and will likely damage the mic. The mic is designed to be used with the 3.5mm stereo plug. We have not tested it with adapters to confirm whether there will be issues with phasing and/or noise created by using a Y-type adapter, but it is very possible that could happen. If did want to try using a stereo 3.5mm Y-cable, you would need to use two XLR adapters (one for each input) like the Rode VXLR+ (B&H # ROVXLRP) which has a built-in power converter that converts phantom power to plug-in power. For the Y-adapter, you can try the Hosa Technology Stereo 3.5mm Female to Dual Mono 3.5mm Male Airline Adapter (B&H #HOYCSMF2MMRA) which splits stereo to two individual mono outputs. Again, I do want to mention that we have not tested this setup to confirm whether it will work properly or if it will sound good. We recommend connecting the mic to a 3.5mm TRS input for the proper stereo imaging it was designed to create.

Q: 4. If I connect the 3.8mm to a Hollyland Lark Max, and the XLRs into an Ursa Mini Pro, will it split the left and right signals?

A: If the Hollyland Lark Max receiver is set to stereo mode, then the ALZO 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord will carry left and right signals on the first and second XLR outputs respectively. If it is set to mono mode, the same mixed signal will be carried on both XLR connectors.

Q: 5. Will this cable connect my Sony A1 to my Godox 1200pro?

A: You can use the Impact Sync Cord Male Mini (3.5mm) to Male PC (16') BH #IMMMPCM16 to connect a Sony A1 and a Godox Ad1200Pro.

Q: 6. Will this work with my Yonngnuo YN560 III flash with a Vello Freewave LR receiver?

A: The Yongnuo YN560 III can slide onto the Vello Freewave LR receiver without the need of a cable.

Q: 7. Will this work with a hasselblad 80mm T* lens and the flash q20 flash and trigger?

A: Yes, the LightPix Labs Male PC Sync Cord should be compatible for use with the Hasselblad 80mm F/2.8 CF T* Lens and the LightPix Labs FlashQ Q20 along with the LightPix Labs T1-S FlashQ Trigger Kit.

Q: 8. Can I use this cable to power my Fiilex P360 pro to the 15Volt XLR 4 output of the Fxlion Mega Battery without any concerns?

A: While the P360 Pro uses a 2.5mm DC barrel connection, this particular cable has not been tested with it to our knowledge.

Q: 9. For the male mini connector, is it 2.5mm?

A: The Impact Sync Cord Male Mini to Male Household (18") does not have 2.5mm connector but instead has a 3.5mm connector.

Q: 10. Would this cord connect to a Canon Speedlite 580ii? I've used this cord with strobes before and Wizards with flashes, but for some reason can't remember if it would connect to a flash (don't have my own flash yet so can't go check lol).

A: Yes, this Impact Sync Cord Mini cable would connect a Pocket Wizard to the sync port on the Canon 580EX II.
