Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How is this active cable powered?

A: The Rocstor Active Premium High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet (White, 25') BH #ROY10C228W1 has an inline signal amplifier.

Q: 2. Transfer cable for Panasonic DC-ZS70 has been misplaced. Will this one work to transfer photos from this camera to USB ports on a CPU?

A: This is actually a HDMI cable to send a video feed to a TV / Monitor. You will need a Micro-USB cable like B&H # PECUAMUMBM6Q to transfer files to a computer. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/825242-REG/Pearstone_USB_AMIB6_6_USB_2_0_Type.html

Q: 3. I know this is included in a bundle with Atomos Ninja V+ but will it support 8K Raw out of a Canon R5 and into the Ninja V+ to record in 8K ProRes Raw? I understand it would be 8K 10bit via HDMI vs 8K 12bit internally but I'm interested in the unlimited and overheating free output with the Ninja V+. Just need to make sure cable handles it (the cable Atomos makes does not). Thanks.

A: It will work, but based on the specifications it would only support up to a resolution of 4K at 60 Hz.

Q: 4. What length makes more sense for gimbal or event rig(cageless) use. 17" or 3 footer? Is there any strain relief for this hdmi. I don't use a cage.

A: In most cases 17 inches is enough, 3 feet is usually too much, and some companies offer 2 foot cables for people that need something in the middle. ultimately you will need to do some measurements on your gimbal and or rig to determine which length works best for you. If the cable is longer than what you need many people rely on cable ties to not only keep their rig organized but relieve cable strain.

Q: 5. Will this cable support 1080p at 240 frames per second?

A: This cable is a HDMI 2.0 cable and does 1080p at 240 frames.

Q: 6. Will this pass the audio from the source HMDI only and the destination using HDMI + RCA for audio on a display that has built in Speakers?

A: The analog audio connector is a mini 1/8" (3.5mm) male phone type.

Q: 7. can you download photos from r6 to computer with this cable?

A: If you are looking to transfer photos from your Canon R6 to your computer, you will need a USB-C cable. A HDMI cable like the one you provided is only meant to send a Video Feed to a TV / Monitor.

Q: 8. Will this cable work cascading with the KanexPro 1x2 HDMI Splitters. Example - Computer to the splitter out to this cable to another splitter out to two Tv's?

A: Yes he A-Neuvideo ANI-AOC-25 is compatible with the KanexPro 1x2 HDMI splitter.

Q: 9. What is the bandwidth? 18GBps or less? Does it support 4K 60Hz 4:4:4?

A: Rocstor High-Speed HDMI Extension Cable (6") BH #ROY10A214B1 supports 18GBps speed. There is no published documentation relating to 4K 60 Hz support at 4:4:4.

Q: 10. What AWG is this? Also would it suit a laptop to a LED TV?

A: These basic cables are 28 AWG. They are suitable for a laptop to TV or any other consumer use.

HDMI on longer cables is always a bit worrisome but this active cable has worked fine for me between my Canon cameras and ATEM Mini Extreme ISO switcher.

Bought 3 of these 50' cables in August 2020 for work in various indoor environments using GH5 cameras and ATEM Mini Pro switcher. Have used them on dozens of occasions at times in crowded locations where people have stepped on cables, kicked them, or improperly coiled them up after the event ended. Have not had any hiccups during broadcasts or recording. Compared to Insignia 25' HDMI cable I bought in a pinch from Best Buy one time which only worked twice before quitting on me, these Pearstone cables are a dream. Great buy for folks who are in live event spaces where the workstation can't always be right next to your camera locations.

A cable this long will usually need a little regeneration boost but this cable is so well isolated, we skated by without having to boost the signal.

I've purchased a lot of these for classrooms and they work fine (I haven't used 4K resolutions - 1920x1080 and below). I haven't had one fail that I can remember - they are a good value.

I purchased a 50' cable to connect a bmpcc to an ATEM Mini. The HDMI cable worked like it should. I got signal from the camera, but I could not color correct or focus the lens. After some trouble shooting, I realized that "camera control" needs bidirectional cables. I learned the hard way that active cables don't work with bmpccs' and ATEM minis' due to the one way feed. Makes sense now after I bought them and have to pay return shipping.
