I used to separately carry my C-stands, modifiers and lighting cases, and after purchasing this portable sets, it really offloaded the burden of me carrying. If you are looking to start a semi-professional photo career like a YouTube channel, I believe this set will suffice

Recommend this kit, especially novice to semi-professional photographers/videographers. Simple to set up and operate.

Very happy with these lights. They took my lighting to the next level and my videos are looking great. The carrying case is compact and great for organized storage when not in use. I read a bunch of reviews before buying the and I heard several complaints about attaching the barn doors. GVM must have fixed this issue because when mine arrived they were already attached and I've never had an issue.

I love how this light is

We first used GVM Lights that were not our own on a set for a shoot and after having used the two-light set we were convinced we had to have our own. We do a lot of experimental RGB photography along with standard, portrait type video interviews and the lights work great for both purposes. We've had the set for about two weeks now and couldn't be happier. The build quality is great and makes sense. The included diffusers are easy to slide in and out and have stoppers to keep them in place regardless of the tilt or angle of the lights. I also love how it's pretty much an all-inclusive kit. The set comes with barn-doors and stands for all of the lights. The housing mount on the lights can be placed horizontally as well as vertically for an overhead lighting set-up. The interface is very user friendly and you can quickly switch back and forth between hues, brightness, etc.


Furthermore, the padded carrying case that comes with the lights is great as well. We do both studio and on-location work so being able to transport them without having to buy an additional case was nice. The lights also have the option of being powered by Sony batteries (I think) or regular outlets. We've stuck to using them on outlets for now but it's nice to have the option to be able to power them with batteries should the need arise.


If you're using the lights for video they also don't produce any discernible noise which is sometimes a concern for sound engineers but, we haven't noticed any and it hasn't affected our work flow.


Overall we're very impressed and satisfied with our purchase and haven't noticed any real caveats or inconveniences that might come with the lights. Including a few experimental portraits we did with the RGB lighting setup.

I really like the build, well made travel case and nice quality of light. I just shot my first interviews and I loved being able to shoot daylight and keep a window in the background, matching color temp and intensity — It looked very natural. I also bought the GVM batteries and I had an issue with the display on the charger. I contacted GVM and received a replacement in less than a week. I highly recommend these lights and this company.

Great Lights

Super reliable and perfect lighting for small set. Shot two features with them and they are on point.

The three pack is awesome, great case for traveling on site, and wonderful to have remote control via the phone. Very lightweight and easy to mount anywhere without the need for super sturdy or heavy stands. Really happy with them!
