The 95mm Blackstone Infrared Neutral Density 0.9 Filter from Wine Country Camera is an ND filter with an 8x filter factor that provides a 3-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing aperture or slowing exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. To provide neutrality across the visible and infrared spectrums in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks, one layer of Blackstone ND Coating is applied to each of this filter's surfaces. The Blackstone ND Coating is also designed to help minimize any effect on a digital camera's resolution when using this filter.

This Wine Country Camera {pnsize}mm Blackstone Infrared Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is constructed from Schott Ultra White Glass for clarity as well as color fidelity. It features an aluminum-alloy filter ring for durability while remaining lightweight.

Q: 1. Will this work with sony f 1.8/ 14 mm GM lens?

Q: 2. I can’t tell from the product photos, does this product have each ring colour coded depending upon the ND stops?

A: No, the rings on the Kase 82mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II are not color coated.

Q: 3. Can a lens hood be used with the Sony 24-70 GM II?

A: Yes. The following filter system allows a end-user to still us e there lens hoods.

Q: 4. Does KASE make a UV filter that can fit this kit without using threads?

A: No. UV are not available at the given moment.

Q: 5. Has anyone used this with a Sony 24-105? If so do you get vignetting when stacking the ND and CPL filters? I read on Kase website https://kasefilters.com/faq that it will have vignetting on this lens regardless of filter size. Is that true?

A: Yes when using Kase 95mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II you need to add an adapter ring to then add the magnetic filters and it becomes very thick if you are stacking multiple filters on top of another and then on top of the adapter ring, that cases vignetting when it is in wide angle position of 24mm.

Q: 6. Using a Zeiss Milvus 15mm: the lens has a 95mm filter size and 110* angle of view. Will the 95mm filter kit vignette or should I consider the next size up with a step-up ring?

A: There is always some vignetting when using ultra wide lenses with front ND filters. Whether or not the amount is acceptable to you will depend on your personal preference. However, given the distance between the front element of that specific lens and the edge of the front of the lens where the filter threads are, I would not expect such vignetting to be a result of the rim of the filter. Rather, it would be due to the angle of the entry of light and the fact that it has to go through the filter somewhat sideways. Again, this is normal with ultra wide angle lenses.

Q: 7. Hi, does Kase also make a 2 stop round magnetic ND filter? Thanks.

A: Kase doesn't make a circular 2 stop magnetic ND filter.

This purchase was a replacement. I accidently dropped the camera/lens with the filter on it. The filter broke, but the lens is fine. Price is higher than some, but it is Nikon quality.

The product is perhaps one of the best on the market. Slightly expensive, but the value is worth the cost. I've used several of these filters and they are consistently good in terms of quality and clarity.

Every lens should have a filter to protect it. This is a perfect one, as has Nikon glass and no effect on the image.

I use this as a protective layer in front of my daily-use lens (35mm F/1.8 Nikkor) and it works just as advertised. The glass is Nikon, so it's as clear as the glass on my lens, adds no color or any type of filtering, which is just what I wanted. I'd rather replace a filter than a busted or scratched lens.
