Q: 1. Does this fit the Alto TS315?

A: No, the Alto TX215 and TS315 are different sizes. The dimensions for the height, width and depth of the TX215 are 24.7 x 15.2 x 14.6" (627 x 386 x 371mm) while the dimensions for the height, width and depth of the TS315 are 25.7 x 16.6 x 15.4” (652 x 421 x 392mm).

Q: 2. I have turbosound inspire ip300 speakers that has crossover 90hz, can I manually adjust this sub to bypass 90hz n above freq?

A: The Alto TX212S Subwoofer only allows for a 100Hz High Pass filter that is not variable.

Q: 3. Can you turn the sub's volume down and still hear your monitors when connected? Essentially can you bypass the sub when powered on, for just the monitors?

A: Your stereo pair will operate independently of the sub and will not be affected by its volume level. The sub may be bypassed completely as well.

A: You wouldn't want to couple two together as that may create a dangerous tipping situation. Q: 5. How bad idea is to use this pole to stick a K12.2 in one side and the KS212C subwoofer in the other? Could it work? How unstable could that tower be?

A: The subwoofer weighs 88 pounds. It is only 15 inches wide, which is about the same width as the K12.2. Technically you can mount it, but you might want to think about putting it on its own separate tripod speaker stand. It would definitely be more stable that way.

Q: 6. Can this be used with HS80M monitors? I've noticed that this subwoofer has a very different frequency response curve to the now discontinued HS10W subwoofer that was designed for the HS80M monitors.

A: Contacted Yamaha and they assure me that it can be used with HS80M monitors. Frequency response is different as the HS8S can go as low as 22hz (HS10W was 30hz). You just need to adjust the cross over frequency until it best complements the HS80M monitors.

Q: 7. In the second photo, does anyone know which speakers are shown strapped to the top?

A: It's difficult to be certain, but from the size of the bags in comparison to the KS112 subwoofer, I think the speakers in the two bags on top of the sub are both the QSC K10.2 (B&H # QSK102). The side flaps that are visible on the two tote bags do look very much like the QSC K10 TOTE Soft Tote Bag (B&H # QSK10TOTE - look at the 4th photo on the item page for this tote bag). The other QSC tote bags for the K12.2, K8.2, and other models have a different sized side flap or a different pocket.

Q: 9. With the volume set at nominal level, does the monitor pop when the power is turned on or off?

A: I have not had any hum or pop turning it on or off. I also use balanced, shielded cables when recording in the field. This monitor has worked quite well for me :)
