Q: 1. Is there an adapter I can buy so this fits on a SP920 head?

A: The closest speed ring option that could be used for the SP Studio System 920 flash head is the Photoflex Speed Ring for SP Systems B&H # PHSR800SSPQ. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 2. Anybody know what the generic name is of the actual tubing?

A: Lock Line = similar. And they make an assembly/disassembly tool. both sizes.

Q: 3. Can I use this with my sE X1 A mic and shockmount?

A: The Heil Sound PL2T Overhead Studio and Broadcast Boom Mount will work with the SE X1's shockmount provided you have a 5/8"-27 threaded opening. Manufacturer's often include a couple of adapters for interchangeability, but if you happen to not have the right size, you can still use the Broadcast Boom arm by getting the Auray AD-5838-B 5/8"-27 Female to 3/8"-16 adapter.

A: The CAD GXL-2200 microphone is a condenser mic that requires power in order to operate. This can not be provided when connecting directly to your computers mic input. A USB Audio Interface is recommended. a href= http://bhpho.to/1zfXIz3 target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1zfXIz3/a

Q: 5. The top of my desk has molding directly underneath so that a clamp-style mount doesn't work for me. My question is, can the clamp be removed to allow a direct mount (i.e. a plate with screw holes in it)?

A: You would require the compatible rise for it to be able to do that. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/616745-REG/Heil_Sound_RS_1_RS_1_Riser_Mount.html

Q: 6. Can I use this with blue Yeti?

perfectly balanced! i podcast and this is by far the best piece of hardware i've added to my mini studio. bought a shock mount for condenser mic and realized i almost didn't need it. adjusting the arm is quiet and does not create any noise. which means you can move around with a live mic and not worry about any annoying squeaking or popping. recommend this to any novice looking for a good cheap boom arm. i'm sure there are better studio arms out there, but this suits me just fine!

What can I say that hasn't already been said. This is the best boom arm. There's never any droop or drift. It's easy to attach and position. Perfect!

Although the price may seem a little high, I found this to be the best type stand for my podcasting and live video stream studio. The springs and other moving parts are very quiet and it really stays where you need it. I did need to loosen the screws at each join to loosen my stand up a little as it was stiff but that was a very easy fix.

I use the mount in my studio where we record a live streamed video podcast. It can be seen weekly on @The mount is professional looking. Stays in the place you put it with having to grind down on a gear like on other types of mounts. The only thing I say is wrong with it is I can't run the end connector of and xlr cable through the bottom of the mount. The cable lays nicely to the side and that works just fine.

I have 4 and they work great. Very quiet and easy to manipulate. I was using a standard 30 dollar mic stand. Trust me, if you record vocals or do a podcast, this is a must have item. The c-clamp mount that comes with it may not work for everyone. There is other mounting hardware for the stand sold separately by heil sound.
