I have trashed pixs rather than downloading them and photoshopping. I could go on, however, scratch protection by glass is a lot more functional than by 'tacky plastic film' and that's a no sh_tter.

A: I think that you can use it but it may not fit properly at the edges. D5500 is not better than 5300 so if you are planing to update, don't do it. Otherwise you can check it at a store. Now, the main problem is the touch screen. I think the 5500 has a touch screen so i cannot guarantee that the touch will work.
